Hi, I would like to have a network chest not only 1x1 in size, but also 2*1 and so on. It is easier to withdraw a lot of resources from one wide chest than from a large number of chests. This would reduce the load on the chest network. This idea is similar by analogy to the mod

  • Definitely agree with that having a larger chest is nice. In particular a 3x3 or 4x4 makes it really easy to load items on both sides of a belt. There are some discussions we need to make on whether these larger chests will have different update behavior so this might not come super but definitely intended.
  • There are no plans to add belts with 360 items/s since there are other mods that do a much better job of adding faster belts.
  • If by "unlimited mode" you're referring to the chest without a limit, there's no limit on the number of items that can be stored in the network. If you want a limit you should disable "unlimited mode" for that item and set a dedicated limit.
  • For now the best way to reduce the time of updating chests is to reduce the number of chests in your factory. I find the mod works well with 2-3K chests.

  1. I think such chests need more priority than ordinary ones.
  2. You're right about fast pipelines, but maybe you'll make an optional dependency with the mod https://mods .factorio.com/mod/UltimateBelts - so that the maximum conveyor opens at the very beginning and does not cost so much.

  4. That's why I suggest you make different-sized chests. To reduce the total number of them on the map as a result. At the moment I am a game in Pyanodons mods and I sometimes have to submit 20 belts per production. Or let's say we put production on something only in one assembly machine and for this we need 1 chest. Maybe you need to make some priorities for the chests. For example, on chests that require fast and slow updates.

I'm adding 3x3 and 5x5 chests in V2, and improved the update logic to be faster. I want to try optimizing the queue to be faster, but the V2 behavior should be getting close to optimal update time.

Also thanks so much for offering to translate the mod! I'm not currently looking for translations since I'm rewriting significant parts of the code and need to move all UI text into locale files. Don't want people wasting time doing translations that are incomplete or will change.
