Industrial Worlds

Separate industrial overhauls. Separate planets. One Space Age game.

Industrial Worlds brings multiple major Factorio overhaul ecosystems together in a single Space Age universe without forcing them to share the same starting planet, resources, technologies or production progression.

Build entirely different industrial civilizations across dedicated planets while keeping Nauvis and the standard Space Age planets focused on their original progression.

Version 0.0.14 introduces the experimental original Nullius 2.1.3 integration through Nullius Core, including the original landing wrecks, salvage, technology identities, recipes, machinery and early research systems.

PUBLIC BETA — EXPERIMENTAL RELEASE

This release is available for community testing. Some advanced progression, cross-world interactions and endgame systems have not yet completed full gameplay validation. Back up existing saves before installing or updating.

The Industrial Worlds

Nauvis — Standard Factorio & Space Age

Nauvis remains the familiar Factorio starting planet with standard Space Age progression.

Industrial Worlds protects important vanilla recipes, machines, technologies, resources and production systems from global changes introduced by supported overhaul mods.

The goal is to preserve standard gameplay while allowing other industrial systems to exist elsewhere.

Features include:

  • Standard automation, logistics, electronics and metallurgy
  • Vanilla science and research progression
  • Standard oil processing, equipment and power generation
  • Normal Space Age planetary progression
  • Protection against foreign overhaul resources and enemy ecosystems
  • Separation of planet-specific technology and production milestones

Overhaul resources and research are assigned to their intended worlds rather than automatically replacing Nauvis.

Angelus — Angel's & Bob's Mods

Angelus provides a dedicated industrial world for the supported Angel's and Bob's overhaul ecosystem.

Develop complex industrial production chains using the original overhaul machinery, materials and science systems.

Features include:

  • Angel's ore deposits, crushing, sorting and refining
  • Advanced smelting, metallurgy and alloy production
  • Petrochemistry and chemical manufacturing
  • Bioprocessing and biological production
  • Bob's metals, electronics, equipment and machinery
  • Dedicated science packs, laboratories and research progression
  • Bob's enemy ecology
  • Planet-specific starting resources and equipment
  • First-arrival burner ore crusher and early production routes
  • Surface-aware production and technology milestones

Angelus maintains its own progression rather than merging its entire technology tree into Nauvis.

Activation requires the supported complete Angel/Bob gameplay suite.

Pyanodons — The pY Industrial World

The Pyanodons planet hosts the supported pY industrial overhaul ecosystem.

Construct large, interconnected production chains using specialized machinery, extensive resource processing and increasingly advanced technologies.

Features include:

  • pY minerals, ores and specialized resource deposits
  • Complex industrial chemistry and refining
  • Dedicated manufacturing and machine categories
  • Advanced materials and energy systems
  • pY science packs, laboratories and technologies
  • Planet-specific production restrictions and progression
  • Local machinery, materials and thermodynamic systems
  • First-arrival mining drill and furnace
  • Early steam-power, automation-science and electronics milestones

Industrial Worlds separates Pyanodons progression from Nauvis and Angelus while preserving the supported original pY gameplay systems.

Activation requires the complete supported pY suite and a compatible Space Age integration, such as pyspaceage.

Nullia — Original Nullius Integration

Major update in 0.0.14

Nullia is an experimental dedicated planet integrating the original Nullius 2.1.3 source through the required Nullius Core companion mod.

Unlike the earlier partial Nullia foundation, this integration uses the original Nullius source systems, recipes, technology identities, equipment, graphics and mission infrastructure.

Experience the beginning of the Nullius industrial and terraforming campaign as an android on a lifeless world.

Original landing scenario

Nullia includes:

  • The original spaceship wreck and 13 scattered wreck components
  • Original recoverable equipment and salvage inventories
  • Starting machinery and industrial supplies
  • Original landing deployment tracking
  • Protected mission and objective state within Nullius Core
  • Checks against duplicate landing wrecks

The original landing system has passed in-game acceptance testing, including all 14 wreck entities and their checked salvage quantities.

Original Nullius industry

The integration includes the source Nullius production systems:

  • Iron ore, bauxite, sandstone and limestone resources
  • Geothermal resources and barren starting environments
  • Early iron processing and metallurgy
  • Water filtration and treatment
  • Electrolysis and chemical processing
  • Specialized industrial machines and assemblers
  • Original recipe categories and intermediate materials
  • Original research technologies and science packs
  • Android and industrial support systems
  • Advanced manufacturing and chemistry infrastructure

All 3,534 original Nullius recipe identities and 553 original technology identities have been detected in the latest acceptance tests.

Research and progression

Nullia retains original Nullius research identities and initial research locks.

The original geology, iron-processing and climatology progression contracts are included, along with the source-specific technology and recipe unlocks.

The integration is intended to retain the original Nullius progression rather than replace it with simplified Industrial Worlds recipes.

Terraforming and original objectives

The original Nullius source systems include industrial terraforming, atmospheric development, ecology and a 13-objective victory campaign.

Important: Full end-to-end terraforming, orbital mission progression and completion of all 13 original objectives have not yet been certified under Industrial Worlds.

These systems remain part of the public beta testing scope.

Terrain and world generation

Nullia uses the original Nullius-compatible Alien Biomes terrain categories, climate expressions, rocks, decorations and resource controls.

Verified systems include:

  • 138/138 expected eligible terrain categories
  • 31/31 original Alien Biomes rock identities
  • 86/86 original decorative identities
  • Original landing and starting-area resource generation
  • Barren starting environment without ordinary trees
  • Dedicated Nullius geology isolated from other worlds

Pixel-exact terrain parity with a standalone original Nullius game has not yet been certified.

Nullia is experimental and can be disabled through iw-enable-nullia-foundation. Nullius Core remains a required installed dependency for Industrial Worlds 0.0.14.

World Isolation and Compatibility

Industrial Worlds uses dedicated planetary boundaries to separate overhaul production systems.

Where necessary, world-specific prototype identities and integration adapters prevent incompatible overhaul systems from overwriting each other.

Isolation includes:

  • Dedicated planetary resource generation
  • World-specific industrial machinery and recipes
  • Independent technology and science progression
  • Local crafting and manufacturing milestones
  • Research prerequisite compatibility checks
  • Protection against foreign resource generation
  • Separation of environmental and enemy systems
  • Planet-specific progression ownership

Items may still move between planets using supported Factorio transport systems.

Isolation primarily controls where industrial systems and progression belong; it does not prohibit all interplanetary transport.

Complete cross-world and multiplayer compatibility testing remains ongoing.
