Q: Why are you doing this?
Someone asked me to on github and to base if off Cerys.
Q: At what point in a playthrough should I visit Cerys Corrundum?
After Vulcanus. Fulgora's lightning attractors help, but Vulcanus foundry will help.
Q: Do I need to complete Fulgora first?
No.
Q: I'd like to play Cerys Corrundum but I don't have an appropriate Space Age save.
This mod is designed to be compatible with existing space age saves. I don't touch vanilla recipes so existing factory elements should keep working.
Q: How do you pronounce Cerys Chalcopyrite?
Chalk-o-pyrite.
Q: Why are there no accumulators iron and copper ores?
Chalcopyrite gives you both and you have to use recipes to void excess materials.
Q: I used another mod that messed with Cerys Corrundum, can I reset it?
You are able to delete the Cerys Corrundum surface and generate it again. The mod will smoothly reset your progress when this happens.
To delete the surface you can use the map editor or the console command /c game.delete_surface('corrundum').
Q: How long have the Fulgorans been on Cerys Corrundum?
No. Its a barren waste land.
Q: Nice. Please tell me another neat fact.
No.
Q: I'm totally stumped at the start, I need a hint.
Sulfuric acid is your friend. It is intentional that the science is easy to make but the planet is hard to master. You can easily dump a bunch of rocket parts and materials, make the science, and leave and have the planet completely dependent on imports. Bring lots of pipes. Oh, and the red boiler and red engine should help with initial power. There is a recipe that takes hot water and solid fuel to make steam. Boiling dilute sulfuric acid to make sulfuric acid is bad.
Q: Fluid imports on Catalytic Chemical Plant are too close together
That is part of the challenge.
Q: What rewards are available?
A faster thruster. A Chemical plant that is double speed and 4 module slots. An icebox that lets you preserve biter eggs, bioflux, and agricultural science to 50% spoilage. Faster infinite research. Blue rockets which combine the power of red and yellow rockets. And a new poison capsule. New rocket fuel productivity research and plastic recipes. New laboratory that only takes quality science packs. Steam production in space. Productivity for pipes, steam turbine, and sulfuric acid.
Q: What tech integrates with other planets.
Calcium sulfate can be used to make nutrients and stone. This integrates with Gleba. Recrystallization works with quality. There is Maraxis bonus content. Cubium integration. Sulfur poison capsules and blue rockets productivity increased with Castra's research. Plastic bar productivity research enhances Corrundum's plastic production. The recipe chains on Corrundum can make processing on other planets easier. Like hydrogen sulfide chain can get you water.
