Thanks for the report. Can you please post the entire factorio-current.log showing the crash? Also the save file where it happened if possible. This will help me determine what type of compatibility issue it is.

Thanks for this. Turns out it's a compatibility problem with AAI Programmable Vehicles. I'll fix the item name problem for the next release. There are still a bunch of problems that arise when loading and unloading AAI vehicles unless the AI is turned off--im my brief test I managed to get an AI driver character just standing next to the vehicle, and a tank that had an AI driver character occupying both the passenger and driver slots.
