In my playthrough, Ultradense furnaces sometimes does not consume the ore in its inventory when smelting. I have also seen it take several seconds for the ore to be consumed out of the inventory. It still consumes the cube. This happens with both the Rare earth smelting (refined) and the Rare earth smelting (explosive) recipes.
I have not seen it happen, but the circuit counter has also implied that the furnace occasionally has consumed the entire inventory (12k ore) instead of the recipe amount (6k).
I noticed because I count all incoming ore (using belts set to read pulse + memory cell), to determine when to send the cube. This bug breaks that circuit, and is thus easy to detect in the attached savefile. I have not seen a pattern. It happens maybe 10% of the time or so.
