When I returned from the lab dimension to the normal map, the cube was gone, and the position given was EEE editor dimension or something. I think the cube must have been left there when I went back. Not sure how it happened, going to assume it was because I had the cube in my inventory when I went there.

That aside really digging the mod, it feels radically different compared to other modpacks like krastorio and SE.

yeah this same thing happened to me. Seems to me that the recovery bay doesn't work in editor for some reason and if you use an inserter to force the dormant cube into it, it disappears. Not a big deal, but would be a nice improvement!

edit: it seems to have started working despite no change. I dont know
