When i attempt to use the miner underground it is constantly trying to alter the floor and it cripples my framerate. If i watch while im doing it, it's constantly placing new floor tiles instead of ignoring the floor and digging the walls.

Can you check with all other mods disabled and send me the savegame?

OK, so i finally got around to trying this and it does still have problems even with just subsurface and the AAI miner. I can still send you the save file if you really need it but you should be able to replicate this on your own with just the two mods.

everything works fine for me with those two mods, nothing happens to the floor

Im uploading a video to youtube at the moment. Unfortunately i have to record with my phone but you can clearly see what im talking about. The mk1 miner is indeed very slow. For I get unstucked when I press W and A or D at the same time, does that work for you?

i have to wiggle it back and forth backing up. sometimes it actually gets stuck and wont move forward or back. i tested this with every tier of miner and they still glitch out.

Could you replace this file:

and check if its working now?

Ive been trying but i cant seem to get it to work. Factorio wont recognize the modified file.

alternatively, hover the miner and exuecute the command:
/c game.player.selected.friction_modifier = 7
I figured out that the initial friction of 10 was too high for reversing

I just tried that. It still wouldnt move backward at all. It seems like once you hit a wall with the miner and then try to reverse it gets stuck and cant move forward or back.

Hmm that's what could be fixed with the friction for me. Can you send me your savegsme?

I updated factorio because it wouldnt let me download the lastest version of your mod but i tried it and I think its manageable now. I still have to turn a little to unstick but once i do i can back up and move around smoothly so I cant complain. Thanks for working on this!
