Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll have a look into it, but it will be quite hard because those mods work very differently to this one. They replace the character graphics whereas I just force the character to permanently be driving the Spidertron.

I just thought I'd throw out an update here: I'm not planning to do this because this mod works very differently to just a sprite swap. The tech tree is rebalanced and there are all the mechanics of keeping the player in the spidertron etc. If someone else decides to integrate this mod with the character selector then I'd probably be happy to accept a pull request with it, but I don't intend to do it myself.
