to be specific you cant enter buildings the mod loads fine but you cant actually use the buildings, is there any way to rectify this ?

Yes, I'm considering a setting to be more relaxed about leaving the spidertron for short periods of time to allow stuff like this.

New setting added in v1.3.0 that allows you to leave your Spidertron for short periods of time, to allow entering Factorissimo factories.

8-legged fish bowl would be perfect! Unfortunately I have zero graphical knowledge, so I can't do it. I think that it would be possible from looking at the character spritesheets, but they would be hard to generate without the tools that the factorio devs have to do it automatically.

could you use the model and legs of spider tron ? for the sprite a place holder would show a poc that could draw artists from like redit id put my hat in but im ass at pixle art

It isn't so much about the actual drawing of the sprite, it is about generating the sprite sheets, which I'm really not interested in doing, sorry. If you (or anyone else) would like to contribute, you can make a pull request on Github or send me the spitesheets and I'll look at integrating them.
Consider making a post https://forums.factorio.com/viewforum.php?f=33 with a plan of it being a separate mod that I could use as a dependency.

Ideally, you would teleport the spidertron to follow the player, I would think? There's plenty of room inside a Factorissimo factory, and it would be the general solution for player teleportation.

I wasn't clear before. It does put the player back into the spidertron after entering/leaving a factory.

I was more thinking that the spidertron should follow the player into the factory, though, in the case of Factorissimo, you have to do interesting things in order to get the point of entry and point of departure to be different; specifically, you would need another player to move the factory that the first player entered, at which point the entry/exit point is no longer (nearly) identical.

In the more general case of teleporting the player around (eg. Warptorio2), the player can teleport to a new surface, then teleport out again in a different location on the original surface, or possibly on an entirely new surface that's still the main surface.

I'm not following what you mean, sorry.
How the mod works is that whenever a player's surface changes, it is placed in a new spidertron (all inventory etc from the old one is transferred into the new one and the old one is deleted).

This means that you will be driving the spidertron around the factory, and any other surface that it is transported to.

Are you saying that you want the player to be walking around with the spidertron walking around behind it? The point is that the player is the spidertron and the 'allow the player to leave' setting is just a compatibility hack.

Sure, there's the stuff we discussed in this thread about it living inside the spidertron, but that's really not the intended or supported 'lore'.

Ah, it's all good already. Sorry, I haven't built a factory building in my playthrough yet; the behavior you describe is exactly what I was thinking of, I just haven't reached the point of being able to see it yet.

Ideally, I think that you'd want Factorissimo to teleport the character while still in a vehicle; this is the behaviour that Warptorio has (which is possibly a bug, given you get teleported out of a regular spidertron when you cross the teleport markers), so it's certainly possible; perhaps Factorissimo wants to change behaviour to match Warptorio when Spidetron Engineer is present? Equally, Warptorio probably needs to be changed so it doesn't teleport your out of your seat if you drive over the teleport marker in a regular spidertron.
