Seems like an interesting idea :) I have a modlist for which i want to make this mod compatible. However i am now invested into finishing Spaghetorio first.

I created a very small compatibility mod that aims to add hot metals support for Spaghetorio. Only basic smelting implemented for now but it's a start. https://mods.factorio.com/mod/spaghetorio-hot-metals

There is also a small fix for most materials as the weight seems to be missing and this causes stack overflow issues with the hot metals mod. I fixed this by declaring all materials to be 1kg in weight. I believe this should eventually be fixed in Spaghetorio directly but before rockets likely nobody would notice ;-)
