but ive noticed that lots of items give "unknown key" on their tooltips.
and the radar requires both steel and automation cores but its technology isn't locked behind steel nor the automation cores
so i kinda researched it and can't use it yet

Can you give some item examples? I fixed the imersium / imersite items in my current working branch and also the resources upon creating new game, but maybe i am still missing some

same with the subgroup for resources itself together with materials subgroup

just the ones i see quickly from checking just now

The ore names in the map creation menu are also missing the correct key.

In 0.3.1 the locale on map generator should be fixed
