This makes Factorio more fun by turning pollution and combat into an interconnected system you actively engage with, instead of just tossing down laser turrets and forgetting about both. This minimalist mod stays close to the vanilla experience, adding only what's necessary to accomplish these goals.

I think it would be interesting if we have a option to only deal with pollution, without the need to collect Xenomass (Blue or Red).

Hello, I agree with this sentiment. The gathering of the Xenomass makes sense as the early tech just takes the ability from the biters and spawners in which they perform the function of "sucking in pollution and growing bigger" and uses it for our purpose of "sucking in pollution", but then there should be another technology behind this were we learn how to mimic this ourselves, no longer needing the Xenomass to perform the same function.

And "Dominiquini", I saw your post on a few pollution mods asking similar things, if no movement on this, I will attempt to do it myself and share with you when complete.

I do want to implement something like this, as it will also give players on peaceful mode a chance to play the mod. I am (slowly) reworking the mod to also include some other requested changes.

@micah would you mind if I implemented your changes? If you want to you can create a pull request on Github to the develop branch.
