g [Won't be changed]Consider not modifying elevated pipe's placement in "normal" tech tree

I'm starting my first new run with several planet mods enabled, and was disappointed to see that elevated pipes is locked behind Paracelsin. I haven't gotten to Paracelsin yet, however, judging by this planet's placement in the tech tree + the fact that there is heating mechanics (similar to Aquilo, so mid-late-ish game), waiting until this planet doesn't feel great considering that elevated pipes has its uses on other planets that come before it, most notably Vulcanus' lava.

Would you consider not modifying where elevated pipes comes in the tech tree under normal conditions (meaning, without this mod enabled)?

Many other mods take standalone mods and make them rewards, some are very basic things, other are advanced stuff. And yet they get moved to distant planets. The elevated pipe is a core reward of Paracelsin and won't be moved. Hell, Rubia moves the blueprint shotgun to itself, when normally it's a early game item!

I totally understand your position on wanting to have rewards for the planets, but it just seems a bit much to me considering all I initially said about its place in the tech tree. It also just seems weird gameplay-wise, like before I get to Paracelsin I can build elevated rails but I can’t build a pipe above the ground?

If anything, could it just be made an option in the mod settings?

As far as what Rubia is doing, I think it’s irrelevant - I also disagree with that, and another mod’s choices does not mean that this one also has to take the same stance on items that really should be part of the earlier game, balance-wise. I will probably go to their discussion board and bring that up, although, it seems like there are two blueprint shotgun entities (and I still got mine in red science somehow, even with Rubia installed).

I mean normally in game you unlock being able to build a spaceship before learning to plant tree seeds so. The elevated pipe will 90% stay in its place and idk if afding a setting would be of any help as I'd probably then have to change its dependency kind and then have to do the same for the accumulator v2 and solar matrix and then i would have to ask their dev to change the compat code on their side and so on so forth. I hate mentioning the slippery slope since bad actors use it usually but thats what it is now really. I either dont change anything, make it optional but keep the dependency mandatory or cause what i just described.
Im still sorry that this has been causing you problems.

Alright fair enough - maybe I’ll just come back and add this planet later when I’m in the mid/late-ish game then 😅

Makes sense lol, do it before you go to aquilo tho as it changes some aquilo recipes!
