Overview

Nightvision Overhaul Space Age enhances your Factorio experience by replacing the standard nightvision equipment with a dynamic halo light effect that illuminates your character and terrain during nighttime operations, especially designed to work together with other mods which make the night much darker, such as Diurnal Dynamics. This mod introduces three tiers of nightvision equipment—MK1, MK2, and MK3—designed for progression through the Space Age expansion or the base game, complete with customizable halo and LUT settings.

Features

  • Halo Light Effect: Replaces the default nightvision overlay with a glowing halo around your character, active in darkness levels above 0.3. Customize the halo’s color, intensity, scale and darkness level to activate for each equipment tier via in-game settings.
  • Three Tiers of Equipment: Progress through Nightvision MK1, MK2, and MK3, each with improved stats and unique halo settings.
  • Space Age Compatibility: Fully compatible with Factorio 2.0 and the Space Age expansion, with no performance-heavy logic (UPS-friendly). Also supports base game without Space Age.

MK3 1x1 20kW, 240kJ buffer, 480kW input Color (R: 0.8, G: 1.0, B: 0.8), Intensity: 0.9, Scale: 20.0 The top-tier equipment with a custom sprite, compact size, quietest activation/deactivation sounds (~33% of MK1 volume), and the largest, brightest halo. Plus bright illumination of the terrain out of reach of the halo.

Recommended Mods

These mods enhance your nighttime experience and are highly recommended to use alongside Nightvision Overhaul Space Age (all are optional dependencies):

  • Diurnal Dynamics: Makes nights pitch black, customizes day/night cycles, enables night-only attacks, and darkens space platforms based on distance from the sun.
  • Leave The Lights On: Your vehicle's headlights stay on after you exit, so you can continue to work in that little bit of light.
  • Realistic Flashlight Fixed: Enhances the character’s flashlight with a wider, more realistic cone of light.
  • Pro Flashlight: Adds powerful, long-range flashlights and personal lights for enhanced visibility in dark environments.
