Freight Forwarding

A small overhaul with a focus on long-distance logistics variety. Transport containerized items across land and sea using trains and ships! First, venture to the edge of your starting island using trains to find lead, then set sail for offshore oil using tanker ships, dredge metallic nodules from the seabed, and recover titanium from other islands. Finally you'll be transporting materials to faraway lava pools to smelt titansteel, an essential ingredient in rocket parts.

g [Resolved] How to limit Port to Boat?

Good day Sir!

I'm using LTN and was wondering if there is a way to make my Ports only accept ships, and not trains?
This particular Port needs to only accept the smallest ship, the Boat.
I noticed that you added an icon for the "encoded positions of Boat", but I'm not sure what to do with it/what number to give it.
Any advice on this one?

PS. Loooove the Hovercraft!!

Thanks!

This sounds like an LTN request, nothing to do with me or the Cargo Ships mod.

I noticed that you added an icon for the "encoded positions of Boat"

Also nothing to do with me - either LTN or Cargo Ships.

I see. Thanks for the reply.

The FF-trains worked flawless with LTN, which made me assume that it could handle ships as well.
It does seem to handle shipping routes, but the problem is that LTN doesn't make a distinction between trains or ships,
hence my question, hoping that you dealt with (and maybe solved) the same issue.

I will try my luck in the LTN section.
Thank you.

The solution to this is actually really simple. All you need to do is put them on separate networks.
For example, I use network 1 for boats and 2 for my main base. Sadly, the two can't really mix, but you can work around that issue.

I picked up the info on the LTN forum and have been testing it for a couple of days now and seems to work perfect!
Thanks for that solution Qloshae! I think I'm going to need quite a few more than 2 networks, for when I have trains running on the other islands as well.
I don't do decimal, but the list seems to be: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 etc. Those represent the networks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
I hope I'm right on that. :)
