Vulcanus Parched Fork

by NOiZE

A survival rebalance for Vulcanus. Sulfuric acid is drastically throttled, lava metallurgy consumes water, and coal liquefaction requires tungsten carbide tooling with a 15% chance of consumption. Adapt or parch.

Vulcanus is a forge world full of untapped mineral wealth... but completely devoid of easy water.

This mod chokes down the torrent of Sulfuric Acid to a mere trickle and completely replaces the vanilla Acid Neutralization process with a heavily nerfed Acid Reduction recipe. The catch? The advanced foundries refining metal directly from lava now require water to keep cool—returning steam at only 50% efficiency (165°C, entirely unaffected by productivity modules).

To survive, you must look to coal. Simple Liquefaction is gone; you are now expected to gasify coal or wood into petroleum gas, and combust that gas to synthesize your water.

  • The Fork Twist: Coal liquefaction now demands high-tier Tungsten Carbide tooling, which has an 85% chance to be salvaged per craft (15% consumption rate). Keep your catalyst loops topped off!
