Hello Terra Palusians!
This update focuses on solving a problem many of you have encountered: your power armor doesn't charge on Terra Palus because there's no sun! Well, now there are multiple solutions.
Ultravium Finally Has a Purpose!
That's right - Ultravium fluid is no longer a dead-end product. It's now the key ingredient in a new power system designed specifically for Terra Palus.
Consumable Batteries
Need a quick charge while exploring? Pop an Ultravium Battery (into your suit, not into your mouth!):
| Item |
Energy |
Best For |
| Ultravium Battery |
10 MJ |
Emergency top-ups |
| Ultravium Battery Pack |
50 MJ |
Extended exploration |
| Ultravium Power Cell |
200 MJ |
Long expeditions |
Craft them in a chemical plant using Ultravium fluid, then use directly from your inventory to charge all equipment in your power armor.
Armor Charging Stations
For your base, build wireless charging infrastructure:
| Station |
Range |
Charge Rate |
| Armor Charging Station |
15 tiles |
1 MW |
| Armor Charging Station MK2 |
22 tiles |
2 MW |
| Armor Charging Station MK3 |
30 tiles |
4 MW |
Just walk near one and your armor charges automatically. They also (should, but untested) charge vehicles with equipment grids! Stations only draw power when actively charging something, so they won't drain your grid when idle.
New Personal UV Equipment
Two new equipment grid items that bring Terra Palus technology to your power armor:
UV Defense Turret
A personal laser turret enhanced with UV technology. When it hits enemies, they flee in terror - just like the stationary UV turrets. Great for keeping biters at bay while you work.
UV Personal Shield
This one's special. It does three things:
1. Standard shield - 100 shield points like a normal energy shield
2. Freeze aura - Enemies within 10 tiles get frozen (costs 20 kJ each)
3. Projectile interception - Destroys incoming Strafer projectiles! (costs 5 kJ each) - this was my personal pet peeve and I FINALLY did it. Hate those flying bastards.
Yes, you read that right - no more getting pelted by Strafer birds. The shield intercepts and destroys those annoying guided projectiles before they hit you.
Tech Tree
All new content unlocks through 4 new technologies branching from existing research:
- Ultravium Power Systems (requires Palusium Liquefaction) → Batteries + Charging Stations
- Ultravium Power Systems 2 → Battery Packs + MK2 Stations
- Ultravium Power Systems 3 → Power Cells + MK3 Stations
- UV Personal Equipment (requires Inhibitor Lamp + Personal Laser Defense + Energy Shield) → Both equipment items

As always, let me know if you encounter any bugs or have suggestions for improvements. Refinements/balance adjustments are likely still to happen, and I'm hoping to work on custom art for each of the tech tree/item graphics etc. Just wanted to get the logic working before I go all out on artwork.
If any artists are reading this and want to help, please get in touch!
Thanks for playing Terra Palus!
Happy freezing!
