Science is unstable


Science beakers spoil into thermonuclear detonations after 20 min (adjustable). Lose half your base to scientific hubris! Donate nearly decayed science packs to biter bases! Watch the most nervous spaceship captains in existence ship science packs around! Beautify planets with science craters! Hint:Higher quality science packs take longer to spoil. Note: For performance reasons (total freeze) when stacks of science packs exploding at once, scientific bada booms do not have the same atomic shockwave effects as atomic rockets. We all weep for our loss.

Hello, I'm intrested in the mod, can you change the nuke to a regular explosion so that the server doesn't die each time science spoils ?
I dropped like 10 bottles on the ground to test and my comp froze for a good 10 sec. I can't imagine what happens when a belt with thousands goes boom.

Maybe set the radius and damage as parameters, as well as choosing between nuke and explosion behavior.

I had tested it in singleplayer with entire belts of spoiling science packs.
Are you in multiplayer?
A dedicated server?

I'll see if I can add an option for a non-nuclear explosion (the lag is the expanding nuke ring mostly, so I'll cut that out.)
