Quantum Fabricator

by Tename

Makes construction bots and malls mostly obsolete by automatically crafting and building ghosts for you. Will handle most things construction bots are doing, like deconstruction, upgrades, placing/removing tiles, inserting modules and repairs.

1) Add the ability to craft items directly into the player’s inventory.

2) Add settings to block items that can’t be crafted using the fabricator, along with a custom list option.

3) Add the ability to take items from the player's trash slots.

  1. Outside of scope of the mod.

  2. What's the use case?

  3. No, I don't think it's important enough.

When you remove buildings/belts/storages that contain items, all of those items are transferred into quantum storage. That contains raw ore and various other materials that can’t be used by the fabricator.

By the way, you can use logic and a dedigitizer. But it expensive in pY.

But if it's too difficult, then don't bother. Then I'll turn on free transfer mode.

Okay I see what you mean. The items have to go somewhere, it's either the storage or the player's inventory, spilling them on the ground or completely erasing them aren't really options. The mod already prioritizes the player's inventory for items that aren't used for any fabrication recipe.

I think the potential danger of players accidentally erasing shitloads of very expensive science or smth because these items had nowhere to go outweighs minor benefits from stricter control on where the items can go.

Alternatively, you can create a separate chest that pulls out items unwanted by the fabricator. Then you can do anything, like drop into the active provider chest.

It's possible, but would take more effort than I'm currently motivated to spend on minor features due to how tangled the code is.
