Quantum Catapult

A Factorio 2.0 mod that adds interplanetary train transport via Quantum Catapult buildings.

Overview

Quantum Catapult allows you to teleport trains between different planet surfaces using two linked buildings:

  • Quantum Catapult Sender — A train stop where trains enter. When a train stops here, it is teleported to the linked receiver.
  • Quantum Catapult Receiver — A train stop where trains arrive after being teleported from a linked sender.

Senders and receivers can be placed on the same surface or on different surfaces.

How to Use

  1. Research the "Quantum Catapult" technology.
  2. Build a Quantum Catapult Sender on any surface next to a rail (it works like a regular train stop).
  3. Build a Quantum Catapult Receiver on the same or a different surface next to a rail.
  4. Open the Sender's GUI and use the dropdown to select a Receiver, then click Link.
  5. Schedule a train to stop at the Sender station — when it arrives, the entire train (with all cargo, fluids, passengers) will be teleported to the Receiver on the destination surface.

Features

  • Full train teleportation: locomotives, cargo wagons, fluid wagons, artillery wagons
  • Preserves all cargo, fluids, fuel, ammo, and wagon filters
  • Transfers passengers riding in the train
  • Preserves the train's schedule and mode (automatic/manual)
  • GUI for linking/unlinking senders and receivers
  • Each sender links to exactly one receiver, and vice versa
  • Catapults can only be built on surfaces with a minimum gravitational field strength (e.g. not on space platforms)

Compatibility

  • Requires Factorio 2.0+ and Space Age
