Raises the internal fluid buffers of the fluid-handling machines in Pyanodons, so that speeding
those machines up actually pays off instead of stalling on a tank that holds a single mining cycle.
Only fluid\_box.volume is touched. No recipe, speed, cost or script logic is changed, and nothing
new is added. Every value below is a startup setting, so it needs a game restart.
What it covers
Four categories, each with its own multiplier:
| Category | Setting | Default | Matches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extraction output | pyfbb-output-multiplier |
×20 | the output\_fluid\_box of mining drills that produce a fluid |
| Extraction input | pyfbb-input-multiplier |
×10 | the input\_fluid\_box of those drills, plus every <drill>-base building |
| Mine input | pyfbb-mine-input-multiplier |
×10 | the input\_fluid\_box of mining drills that consume a fluid but produce none of their own |
| Fluid fuel | pyfbb-fuel-multiplier |
×10 | the fuel fluid box of anything that burns or consumes a fluid as energy |
Targets are discovered by scanning prototypes with generic rules, not from a hardcoded machine
list, so machines added by a future pY update are covered automatically. With the default settings
131 fluid boxes change, across 93 prototypes. (The generic rules match 97; the four pre-excluded base game prototypes account for the difference.)
Extraction output (×20)
| Prototype | Before → after |
|---|---|
oil-derrick-mk01 … mk04 |
1000 / 2000 / 3000 / 4000 → 20000 / 40000 / 60000 / 80000 |
natural-gas-derrick-mk01 … mk04 |
100 → 2000 |
tar-extractor-mk01 … mk04 |
100 → 2000 |
geothermal-plant-mk01 |
1000 → 20000 |
The gas derrick and the tar extractor hold exactly one mining cycle worth of fluid. Any speed
increase you give them is wasted, because the machine stops the moment the tank is full.
Extraction input (×10)
| Prototype | Before → after |
|---|---|
oil-derrick-mk01 … mk04 -base |
100 → 1000 (drilling fluid, 4 boxes each) |
natural-gas-derrick-mk01 … mk04 -base |
100 → 1000 |
tar-extractor-mk01 … mk04 -base |
100 → 1000 |
geothermal-plant-mk01 |
200 → 2000 (pressured water) |
The -base buildings are the hidden drilling-fluid rigs underneath each derrick. When they run dry
the derrick above them stops, so their buffer matters just as much.
Mine input (×10)
Mines that consume a fluid to mine solids, but produce no fluid of their own. Every one of them
holds exactly 200 — the same problem the drilling fluid has.
| Prototype | Before → after |
|---|---|
fluid-drill-mk01 … mk04 |
200 → 2000 |
ree-mining-drill-mk01 … mk04 |
200 → 2000 |
borax-mine, borax-mine-mk02 … mk04 |
200 → 2000 |
niobium-mine, phosphate-mine, coal-mine, quartz-mine |
200 → 2000 |
Fluid fuel (×10)
| Prototype | Before → after |
|---|---|
gasturbinemk01 … 03, py-turbine |
100 → 1000 |
mdh |
400 → 4000 |
steam-turbine-mk01 … mk04 |
200 / 1200 / 12000 / 120000 → 2000 / 12000 / 120000 / 1200000 |
py-gas-powerplant-mk01 … mk04 |
200 / 400 / 600 / 800 → 2000 / 4000 / 6000 / 8000 |
py-oil-powerplant-mk01 … mk04 |
200 / 400 / 600 / 800 → 2000 / 4000 / 6000 / 8000 |
glassworks-mk01 … mk04 |
200 → 2000 |
smelter-mk01 … mk04 |
100 → 1000 |
antimony-drill-mk01 … mk04 |
100 → 1000 |
sulfur-mine, salt-mine |
3000 → 30000 |
nuclear-reactor-mk01 … mk04, nuclear-reactor-mox-mk01 … mk04 |
200 → 2000 |
neutron-absorber-mk01 … mk04 |
200 → 2000 |
compost-plant-mk01 … mk04 -turd |
100 → 1000 |
oil-boiler-mk01, solar-tower-building |
100 → 1000 |
solar-concentrator, lrf-building-mk01 |
100 / 1000 → 1000 / 10000 (fuel and spent-fluid box) |
A buffer of 100 with a burn rate of 1–1.5 per tick empties in about one second. That is what
makes these machines stutter — right at the point where you scale your power plant up.
Keeping machines out of it
Two startup settings take comma or space separated patterns:
- Excluded prototypes (blacklist) — matching prototypes are never touched.
- Included prototypes only (whitelist) — if non-empty, only matching prototypes are touched.
The blacklist still wins.
Patterns support \* and ?, and may be prefixed with a prototype type:
oil-derrick-\*, \*derrick\*, generator:steam-\*
The default blacklist is pumpjack, steam-engine, steam-turbine, steel-furnace. These are base
game prototypes that pY itself never touches, but that the generic rules do match: two base
generators, the base pumpjack and the base steel furnace (which pY converts into a fluid burner).
They ship pre-excluded so that upgrading from 1.0.0 does not silently rebalance base power. Clear
the field to boost them as well.
Names match the prototype name, not the in-game display name. Use /pyfbb list in game for the
exact names — it prints every affected prototype and marks the ones currently excluded.
In-game commands
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/pyfbb |
shows the four multipliers, how many prototypes each covers, and the parsed lists |
/pyfbb list \[category] |
prints every prototype in the registry, marking the excluded ones |
/pyfbb scan \[radius] |
reads the live fluid box capacity of machines within radius (default 20) |
/pyfbb scan reads the capacities back through the runtime API, so it is a direct check that the
boost is in effect on machines you already built. Categories are extraction\_output,
extraction\_input, mine\_input and fuel.
Notes
- Works on existing saves. Buffer size is prototype level, so machines you already built pick up
the new volumes when you load the save. No rebuilding required. - Removing the mod returns buffers to their original size. Fluid held above the old capacity is
likely discarded, so drain those machines first if that matters to you. - Changing a setting requires a restart, and in multiplayer every player must use identical
settings. - Verification. Checked on Factorio 2.1.19 with the full pY suite: the prototype census is
identical with and without the mod, every changed volume equalsround(before × multiplier)for
its category, an excluded prototype stays untouched, and a live test machine reported its boosted
capacity back through the runtime API. The mod also re-checks its own prototype registry on every
load and warns in the log if a pY update makes it stale. - Unofficial community patch. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the Pyanodons
team. Contains no Pyanodons code or assets. Licensed GPL-3.0-or-later.

|---|---|
oil-derrick-mk01 … mk04 |
1000 / 2000 / 3000 / 4000 → 20000 / 40000 / 60000 / 80000 |
natural-gas-derrick-mk01 … mk04 |
100 → 2000 |
tar-extractor-mk01 … mk04 |
100 → 2000 |
geothermal-plant-mk01 |
1000 → 20000 |

oil-derrick-\*, \*derrick\*, generator:steam-\*
|---|---|
/pyfbb |
/pyfbb list \[分类] |
/pyfbb scan \[半径] |
GPL-3.0-or-later
