Changelog

Version: 0.1.9
Date: 2026-11-01
  Features:
    - Flamethrower turrets can be built on the floor. Like the other turrets, each one makes the MAMMOTH fire flames outside. Pipe oil (crude, heavy or light) to the turret on the floor; the oil stays there and goes down as it fires, and only a little rides outside. Flamethrowers have their own button in the weapons panel to hold fire. The MAMMOTH is not hurt by its own flames.
Version: 0.1.8
Date: 2026-11-01
  Changes:
    - The MAMMOTH floats only on deep water. Where people and spidertrons can walk -- Gleba's wetlands, and shallow water and mud on Nauvis -- it drives as on land, at full speed. It still floats on deep water, Gleba's deep lakes and Aquilo's ocean.
Version: 0.1.7
Date: 2026-10-25
  Balancing:
    - A machine putting a MAMMOTH together from its four parts no longer takes quality modules (speed and efficiency modules still go in), as when taking it apart. They used to work, and since the parts keep the MAMMOTH's quality, putting it together and taking it apart over and over raised its quality almost for free.
Version: 0.1.6
Date: 2026-10-25
  Changes:
    - Ammunition stays in the turrets on the floor, where you can see it. The MAMMOTH's hidden gun outside for each turret keeps only the little it needs between top-ups (2 shells for artillery, a few magazines for a gun turret), instead of taking everything. Ammunition already moved out comes back by itself.
Version: 0.1.5
Date: 2026-10-25
  Features:
    - The MAMMOTH's own window has the weapon buttons too, under "Go inside": switch each weapon type on and off there as from the corner panel.
    - An artillery targeting button, next to the artillery button in both places: green, the artillery on the floor picks its own targets; red, it fires only where you aim the artillery remote. It switches every artillery turret on the floor at once.
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed: switching off automatic targeting on an artillery turret on the floor did nothing; the MAMMOTH's artillery kept picking its own targets.
Version: 0.1.4
Date: 2026-10-25
  Balancing:
    - The brakes work: pressing S while moving stops the MAMMOTH from full speed in about 2 seconds (it took 11, about as long as letting go). It brakes just as hard at any speed. Once stopped, S reverses as before.
Version: 0.1.3
Date: 2026-10-22
  Features:
    - A weapons panel in the bottom left corner while you drive or ride the MAMMOTH (from the helm too): one button per weapon type built on the floor, with how many there are. Click to hold fire with that type (red), click again to fire (green). The choice is kept for the whole team.
  Balancing:
    - Slows down about as fast as it speeds up (7 s from standing to near top speed): braking from full speed now takes 6 s (was 11 s), and letting go of the pedal on land rolls it to a stop in 7 s (was 33 s).
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed: railguns on the floor only fired at targets to the north of the MAMMOTH. They now fire all round, and the MAMMOTH takes no damage from its own guns (a railgun shot to the rear passes through the hull).
    - Fixed: lasers and railguns showed a "no power" warning over the MAMMOTH although the floor had power. Each shot's energy now comes from its turret on the floor; when the floor runs short, that turret holds fire until it has recharged.
    - The turret's slot in the vehicle window is named ("Turret traverse") instead of showing an unknown key; it takes no ammunition.
    - Fixed: the MAMMOTH had the ordinary tank's brakes; its own heavier brakes never applied.
    - Fixed: when the MAMMOTH was destroyed while someone drove it from the helm, they stayed stuck on the floor inside. Everyone is now put outside where it stood.
    - The hatch always lets you out, even when there is no MAMMOTH any more: you step out where it was last seen. Anyone already stuck on a floor is put outside when the save loads with this version.
Version: 0.1.2
Date: 2026-10-22
  Features:
    - A stacked turret: one storey per weapon type, heaviest at the bottom (artillery, railgun, laser, gatlings). Each storey turns on its own, at its own speed, towards what its weapons are shooting. The Tesla mast and a rocket launch box are fixed on the deck behind it and fire all round.
    - Target filters set on a turret on the floor (priority targets, ignore the rest) apply to the vehicle's shots from it.
    - Take a MAMMOTH apart: pick it up and craft it back into its four parts, by hand or in an assembler. Quality is kept; quality modules cannot be used for it.
    - The MAMMOTH itself cannot be recycled (take it apart instead). The parts recycle as normal.
    - A built-in radar keeps the MAMMOTH's surroundings revealed, so driving from the helm no longer goes into fog.
    - Reactors in the equipment grid power the floor directly; batteries are no longer needed.
    - The hatch and the helm have their own graphics, on the back and front edges of the floor. The power tap is gone from view.
  Balancing:
    - Each of the four parts weighs exactly 1 tonne: one part fills one rocket.
  Graphics:
    - Twice as many directions (64): smoother turning. Shadows at half resolution to keep the graphics memory about the same.
    - Afloat, the MAMMOTH swaps to a body drawn only above the waterline; its shadow on the water is now a real shadow.
    - The info panel and the vehicle window's preview show the whole MAMMOTH, tracks included.
Version: 0.1.1
Date: 2026-10-22
  Graphics:
    - The tracks are an open belt of links with air inside; the road wheels, drive sprocket and idler are as deep as the track is wide.
    - Fixed: some track shoes were drawn as stray lines below the vehicle while the tracks moved.
    - The four parts and the research have their own icons, rendered from the model.
Version: 0.1.0
Date: 2026-10-22
  Features:
    - First release. MAMMOTH: Mobile Amphibious Modular Multi-Ordnance Tracked Hulk.
