Well, as turns out, after complex refinement, it has excellent fuel and catalytic properties, allowing you to boost (literally) your factory.
Power Speed comes at a price, be it literal resources or something else, like you safety.

Maraxsis mod is highly recommended as it gives huge bonuses to production chain (hydro plants), but not mandatory.
Current features:
- Redleaf cubeplant - spawns on Nauvis and Gleba and can be cultivated with agricultural towers;
- Cubeplant processing chain - tightly intertwined with oil processing, requiring light oil, filtering and steam, and giving oil byproducts;
- Cubeine crystal forging using advanced space age buildings (foundry and cryoplant);
- 3 Main plant products - powder, crystal, and fluid solution - and none of them spoil!;
- Can be eaten directly to boost you character's speed!
- Recipes to drastically improve performance of you vehicles' fuel (includes se-space-trains compatibility)!
- New cubeine solution powered biochamber - is faster and requires no spoilable nutrients but cubeine solution instead!
- Cubeine powered spaceship thrusters - burn hard, go fast!
- Speed module overclocking with cubeine solution - increase the speed boost effect even further. Although be careful not to burn them out.
- Astroponics compatibility - grow the plants in space!
- Maybe something more in the future?
What are actual risks?
- Eating it with your character causes poison damage over time and can mess with controls - don't overdo it if you are not ready!
- Enhanced fuel spoils after some time - mostly resulting in nasty fires, but plutonium (if you have Cerys) one is a nuke!
- Modules can become destroyed or degraded after overclocking - with higher overclock levels carrying higher risk - degraded modules just need time to return to normal, but destroyed ones can only be thrown into a recycler.
- Harvesting, processing, and using the plant all cause high pollution - with obvious consequences for your base.
- [REDACTED] - research and manufacture of these is prohibited cause of EXTREME risk they pose.
Mod currently in beta, and the balancing is subject to change.
