I actually personally find the fish breeding change to use spoilage un-helpful (especially with trying to up-cycle to legendary fish for spidertrons)

Yes, but I nominally use biter-eggs for nutrients on planets other than Gleba. I have a dedicated set of ships to carry biter eggs which works rather well, especially for legendary eggs.
