  • Rampant Arsenal (Fork) by Dimm2101 (originally by veden)
    Used as an important foundation and reference for several ammunition, projectile, and combat-effect implementations. Some work derived from Rampant Arsenal (Fork) is included and modified in K2SO Arsenal under the GPLv3 license.

  • Cannon Defense Systems by kafoaai
    K2SO Arsenal includes modified and renamed sprite assets from Cannon Defense Systems and reworks its cannon turret progression to fit the K2 Arsenal balance. The original work is credited in the included notice and GPLv3 license files.

Dependencies & Integrations

K2SO Arsenal is built around Krastorio 2 Spaced Out and Space Age combat progression.

The required combat dependencies are included to expand the player's defensive and offensive options, especially during the mid and late game. The goal is to add more variety against stronger enemy pressure without relying on a single best turret, shell, or ammo line.

Core Dependency

  • Krastorio 2 Spaced Out
    The main balance target for this mod. K2SO Arsenal follows K2SO's military pacing, science tiers, and late-game combat expectations.

Several K2SO and Space Age combat options receive small balance adjustments:

  • K2SO Rocket Turret: adjusted into a stronger long-range rocket defense option.
  • K2SO Laser Artillery Turret: improved durability and stronger area impact.
  • K2SO Light Railgun Turret / Railgun Shells: moved into a K2SO-style progression and normalized to scale through regular projectile damage and shooting speed upgrades.
  • K2SO Advanced Tank: minor defensive buffs against laser, electric, and poison damage.
  • Space Age Rocket Turret: adjusted health, range, firing speed, and damage modifier to better fit a heavier K2SO combat environment.

Required Combat Additions

These mods add extra combat tools that help fill the gap between early-game defenses and late-game artillery or railgun options.

  • Cannon Defense Systems
    Reworked to fit K2SO Arsenal's progression. The older basic/heavy cannon turret branch is streamlined, while the advanced cannon turret is kept as the main cannon-defense option and rebalanced around K2SO pacing.

  • Heavy Gun Turret
    Rebalanced as a stronger mid-game ballistic turret without bypassing normal projectile damage progression. Its range, fire rate, and upgrade scaling are normalized to better match K2SO's combat curve.

  • doeWorks Rocket Artillery
    Adds a rocket-artillery style defensive option. Its firing speed is adjusted so it fits more naturally into K2SO's mid/late-game combat tempo.

  • Missile Defense Systems SA
    Adds missile-based defensive options and gives the player more variety against tougher attacks in the medium and late stages of the game. K2SO Arsenal currently uses it mainly as a required content dependency rather than a heavily rebalanced system.

Optional Integrations

  • AAI Vehicles: Chaingunner
    If installed, K2SO Arsenal adjusts the Chaingunner's health and resistances so it survives more consistently in K2SO-style combat.

  • AAI Programmable Vehicles
    If installed together with AAI Vehicles: Chaingunner, matching programmable vehicle variants are patched as well.

Recommended Mods

  • Rampant Fixed
    The main enemy overhaul this mod was balanced around. Recommended if you want enemy pressure to remain relevant throughout the game.

  • Fulgoran Enemies
    Adds dangerous enemies to Fulgora, which can also be controlled by Rampant Fixed for a more challenging planetary combat experience.

  • Advanced Target Priorities
    Allows more detailed turret targeting priorities, which is especially useful when using a larger variety of defensive weapons.

  • Artillery Bombardment Remote
    Makes late-game artillery control easier and more convenient.

  • Rainbow Lasers
    Not required for balance, but why not, lol.

Important Note

K2SO Arsenal is my first larger Factorio mod project.
