g Darker Platforms reduce solar more than game tells you

The darker platforms double dip on solar power reduction as the panels don't work at 100% effectiveness because they consider it approaching night time, and they scale with the solar power in space modifier. This significantly reduces the amount of power that is generated the farther out you get, making early game solar much less viable. At even just Fulgora orbit you go from 72kW in base game to 61kW per panel, and this decreases the further away you get.

Yeah that is an unfortunate quirk. Last I checked there wasn't much I could do about that... but I do have a few hundred lines of patch notes and API updates to catch up on so I might be missing something!

If it's a big enough problem I'm also open to adding a setting to change the solar power values in space.
