Make nights pitch black, customise the lengths of day/night cycles, enable night only attacks and darken space platforms/distant planets as they get further from the sun! All configurable.

I think this mod bakes in the LUTs in the savegame, even after removal of the mod, the LUTs remain.
Not possible, they're files in the mod and defined on startup.
You're probably thinking of the map specific, planet specific, darkness settings which do need to be reset by setting Peak Darkness Percent to 0.
I could add implement a real-time button in the map settings to make the process a bit faster though?
Same applies to the platforms, disabling Darker Platforms will reset those as well in the same way.
