g Multiple Surface Cost?

1 year, 4 months ago

I tested this across multiple surfaces and it worked, was curious how energy cost is calculated in that instance.

I'm not actually sure how it handles over multiple surfaces. It just calculates based off the source's X and Y and the destination's X and Y. So I assume it'll just take whatever both are from each surface's coordinates and work it out that way.

Something to test for sure!

That case is probably fine for me! I'm transferring between surfaces in 'floors' so if they are the same chunk x,y that actually makes sense in theory because it is right 'above' or 'below'

How did you get it to work on multiple surfaces?

I can see the signals, but can't get items to transfer.

Honestly it just worked so it may have just been how the mod handled connections between surfaces. Both my surfaces were near the 0,0 origin of the map though. So the power cost was minimal, that may be what you are running in to.

Hmmm...I MUST be just missing something; It won't work for me.
I have a network set up on Nauvis Orbit - everything transports fine. All of my chests are within 10 chunks of 0,0 and I have never had an issue with 10 SE accumulators...I have AAI signal transmitter/receivers, and I can see the signal on Nauvis, but nothing gets pulled. I bumped up the number of SE accumulators to 50 still nothing.

All of the accumulators are tied together with bot red and green wires, and are attached to a network control (all on Nauvis Orbit). Currently no accumulators or controllers are on Nauvis, but I tried it with them, also. Neither transferred.

I assume it's something silly and ridiculous that I'm missing, but I can't find it ;P

I looked into this and I believe the issue is the way AAI Signals internally couples the circuit network with differing IDs versus how the Warp Drive mod internally uses same circuit ids for connections between floors. So basically, I'm sorry but I think you're boned trying to get it to work with that mod.

I just tested a modified version of the mod locally and can confirm this is in fact the issue. Once I changed the IDs to match system works fine. No idea what other ramifications that change would do to Signals mod though.

You are correct! Great observation...

Thanks for the help :)
