b Chip recycling doesn't produce optical cable

Trying to start fulgora, came across this. Not sure if this is intentional or an oversight/bug, but it does mean that recycling becomes significantly more expensive especially on fulgora. If I want to build back chips, esp. when I want to scale quality, I have to entirely fabricate my own optical cables, I fully lose out on all the copper, glass and plastic that would be generated from them. I would generally expect if the base recipe is changed that the recycle recipe would be changed as well.

After thinking, I realize this is probably intentional to not brick existing recycling setups. However I still would love if there was an optional patch or something to enable this.

No this should actually be returning optical fiber. I can't confirm right now, but what other mods do you have that modify advanced circuits / recycling, if any? It could be a bug in CI, in which case we'll fix it

It is not a bug in Crushing Industry. I just tested and confirmed that the recycler produces optical cable. Some other mod must have changed something.

ok. Im playing stellar horizons so its a huge modlist, Ill have to investigate. I asked the muluna dev to add a compatability patch for optical fiber and I think they added recycling recipes for it, maybe that's something to do with it.

I can at least confirm its not just a UI bug at least because Im definitely not receiving any optical fiber when I recycle red/blue chips

Sorry for the false report :)

When I hover over the chip recipes they say theyre coming from CI, but the recycle recipes say theyre coming from Igrys and Cerys I think. Maybe I need to look into that.

Thanks for verifying, S6X. Looking at the code for Cerys, looks like there's a setting for overriding the recycling recipes to be the defaults.

I spoke to the Cerys dev https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Cerys-Moon-of-Fulgora/discussion/69697abc20d5b3e8ecd91483

There is a mod setting under Cerys that disables a handful of items from having their recycling recipes being overridden. Disabling this setting allows me to use the optical fiber version of chip recycling. Hopefully this won't cause other issues, we'll see.

Thanks for the help.
