Summary
Very fun, very coooool mod. Auto generates water and flouroketone cooled recipes for preexisting casting recipes and increases the base recipe time and calls it air cooled; the new recipes output steam and hot flouroketone respectively. For recipes that cannot accept more fluid inputs, an ice input is added instead. Also, all recipes have signals for automation.
Settings:
- you can change the % returned steam and hot flouroketone
- you can make it so that fouroketone always takes and outputs integers if you dislike decimals
- you can change the air cooled time multiplier
- you can disable air cooled, water cooled, or flouroketone cooled (disabling all but last will lock you out of recipes if you don't yet have flouroketone)
- Filtering settings (oh boy wow) And yes, you can use as many as you like, just don't forget the comma
- You can exclude by item type, default it excludes buildings as that seemed odd for me, you can disable that if you like (boolean or change values)
- You can include and exclude specific recipes by code name
- You can exclude recipes by an output item name
- You can include recipes by an input item name/keyword (ie "molten", which is default and deleting it will prevent checks for molten ingredients)
To Note, the sum amount of valid ingredients will determine the coolant required
- Disabled by default, you can turn on an ice crafting recipe with a customizable water to ice ratio
Compatibility:
Casting Plant - Highly recommend casting plant mod. For compatibility, this mod adds 2x fluid outputs to the entity and makes it so, when active, the foundry only air cools while the casting plant uses only water and flouroketone cooling.
Molten Plastic - Baseline removes molten-plastic as a check via the same mechanic as the recipe name filtering setting. Recipes with other molten ingredients still work, like low density structures will have their molten plastic recipe be adapted by this mod, but the required coolant value is unaffected by the molten plastic amount.
Galore Mods - It works. No specific compatibility but all the recipes are generated
More Casting - It works. I'm iffy about it just cause it makes a lot of recipes, but ain't that the whole point of More Casting?
List of general mods that are known to work - Molten Tungsten, Crushing Industry(and lignumis part), Paracelsin, Frozenta Nuclear Winter, (Beta) Fulgorite Lib, Muluna (mostly, see below). (if these mods update and then don't work, let me know)
Other mods I haven't tried - Won't claim they work, but the whole point of dynamic recipe generation was so that it would work with any mods. I also made all the settings so if anyone wants, they are free to make it work better with other mods. If there is a mod that isn't compatible, or if a mod adds a new machine that you'd like me to add compatibility for, let me know. Unless I need to add more outputs, I made adding a new recipe category only require a 1D array of 5x values. (if curious go look at the casting plant compat I have at the bottom)
Issues:
Currently only one known issue. The duplicated water and flouroketone cooling recipes for muluna's aluminum casting show copper instead of aluminum for the icon. The recipes themselves luckily work just fine. Now, I may be wrong but I think the icon issue is due to muluna setting icons to a custom recipe messing with the table.deepcopy function.
Future: No clue, but I was thinking of making a small mod pack that would work similar but not the same as Vulcans Parched Fork, but with more settings and some other changes so this will probably be tied into that one as a required.
Credit: I didn't use any of the Vulcans Parched Fork code though I did use the folder organization as my stating point, so thanks for that and the idea, I did reference both molten plastic and casting plant. As for AI, I read the Gemini summary for googled questions like, "lua for loop syntax". I've never coded in lua before (only JS, Java, Python, HTML, and CSS though it was a while ago for all of them) I probably should've ignored it and read stack exchange or something but I'm lazy.
