Q: How often do you plan to update this mod?
A: It depends on how creative my head is feeling and whether I come up with new ideas, as well as whether there's anything left to fix or tweak. I'm working on this mod in my free time, and sometimes life gets in the way.
That said, there's a line in the "Information" tab which will keep the mod status. As long as the line at the beginning says something about development, I haven't abandoned the mod.
Q: What are you currently working on?
A: In-depth research and companion diversity. I have sketched out a progression path utilising the latest Space Age DLC technology tree. Currently, I'm in the middle of ideas and textures/sprites for drones, using Blender to make nice models and 'spritesheeting' them (the hardest part :c ). Then finally executing the idea in-game.
Currently, the mod is in a good position: I've fixed most of the bothersome issues, so I feel comfortable developing this large update, which will take a lot of man-hours.
At the moment, this rework idea consists of 5 drone variants, each with their own equipment, sprites, and design. Each drone variant will have its own "quirks", different components and progression. Around 50 new technologies to unlock.
This new content could be released in parts if conditions are going to be favourable.
Q: Why can't I download certain versions?
A: Version 1.0.0 was never public, as it's the origin/fork of the mod made by Klonan, kubiixx, MrJakobLaich and Maoman.
Otherwise, I will leave one or two older versions available for the players to switch between in case things don't work out well on your end with the newest version available.
Q: Which version should I play?
A: The one with the highest number is generally recommended.
Q: The Companion I spawn with starts with Mk.2 technology?
A: That is intended. It's meant to serve as a "gift" to your beginning. If you lose that companion, then it's gone forever, and you'll have to wait until you research Mk.2 tier by yourself.
Q: How does progression with Companions work?
A: It's very simple: You research better tiers of Companion equipment as you progress through the game. Mk.1 to 4 are all researched on Nauvis, so you can reach Mk.4 before going into space.
Q: How can I increase the number of Companions that follow me?
A: By researching the vanilla repeatable technology "Follower robot count". There should be an icon "as effect" of adding +1 companion to your follower cap.
At the start of the game, you start with a maximum of 3 companion followers.
