Adds concentrated solar energy based around heliostat mirrors, which can point at solar power towers to generate heat for heliothermal energy production, or solar lens towers to generate giant lasers.
Hi, if you use this mod together with https://mods.factorio.com/mod/shield-generators?from=search then all of the heliostat mirrors will get shield hit point bars below them, and this is without any shield generators built nearby or on the entire map for that matter. This ends up looking quite busy and somewhat defeats the purpose of having such a beautiful setup of mirrors all concentrated on a central tower.
I would guess that this is because the heliostat mirrors used turrets as a base and has a tag or something similar that makes the shield mod misinterpret them as turrets. Would it be possible for you to change this in some way so that other mods do not treat the mirrors as turrets? If not then I completely understand and thank you for making such an awesome mod.
Thanks! The way the mirrors are setup to point to the towers uses a turret base as you suggest, so this makes sense. The shield mod probably uses this as a catch all for military entities or the like.
You might have luck if you report this to the other mod. Technically I could fix it by making 16 different mirror entities that get switched out on the fly to mimick rotation. But I don't really want to at this moment because effort :(
