When I started to play with this mod, I saw the new "purple" Basic Transport Belts. But a shame is, that they are not used in the recipie for the normal "yellow" Transport Belt.

they are used for science pack 2, maybe that's why normal yellow belt don't need basic belt
sadly not, for the pack2 you need the yellow one as well, perhaps kaorhil changed it
The original idea was that you didn't need grey belts for yellow, but they were used in the science pack.
The newer versions of the mod do have grey belts in the yellow belt recipe.
