What do I need to prepare a missile?
- First build the missile-silo. The silo will add several buildings to itself that are needed for operation.
- Supply the missile silo with steel-plates, advanced-circuits and a single storage-tank and a missile will start building.
- Once the missile is finished it will be transported into launch position.
- Insert light-oil into the fuel tank. See "How much fuel do I need?" for more information.
- Add ammo and modifier items of your choosing to the payload chest and launch the missile.
How do I launch a missile?
You can initiate a missile launch either by using the targeting-remote (using the shortcut with the tiny missile-icon) or with the logic inputs.
How does the logic start work?
Connect the inputs to the logic-connector of the missile-silo (connecting it to the payload-container won't work).
Use the "X" and "Y" inputs for the target position in world-coordinates and send a "L"=1 signal to initiate the launch.
Mods like AAI-Signals can be used if you want buildings that can output world-coordinates.
How much fuel do I need?
The missile will use a fixed amount of light-oil for starting and some more for reaching it's target.
If there is not enough fuel in the tank the missile won't start so you don't have to worry about loosing your precious missiles in flight.
As default the missile will use 1000l for the start as default and (distance * 5000000)^(1/3) for the flight.
Fuel consumption for the missile start and flight can be changed in the mod-settings.
If you don't want fuel-usage at all set both values to 0.
Is there optimal payload?
No, it depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want to attach a single biter spawner some firearm-magazines should be enough.
You want to attack a weak but big biter nest? Try some grenades and poison capsules together with explosives. The explosives will spread the other items over a large area.
Which items can be used as payload?
You can use most vanilla and modded ammo, capsules and throwable items. The missile-system will use them at impact just as if they were fired with regular weapons.
A single magazine that has multiple bullets will fire all of them in different directions, so nothing is wasted.
How much will the projectiles spread?
Depends on the amount of explosives, lubrican-barrels and crude-oil-barrels in the payload bay.
The base max impact radius is 15 tiles.
Explosives will increase it by 1 per item.
Lubricant Barrels decrease it by 1 per item.
Crude Oil Barrels will decrease it by 0.5 per item.
Some modded ammo items don't work. Why?
Hitscan ammo can not be used. Some ammo items with custom behavior won't work either.
Unfortunately there is not much I can do about it. I've tried to make the missile compatible with as many items as possible.

I want more explosives, more slots, more of everything!
You can change the amount of payload slots in the settings.
My capsule-robots die in the impact explosion!
Don't add explosive ammo items ;)
They work better with poison and/or slowdown capsules.
