Advanced Energy Grid

Vanilla electric poles solve themselves in five minutes. This mod adds a staged pole, substation, and transmission progression — with optional Power Overload integration — so your grid becomes a real part of factory planning.

Vanilla electric poles cover most of a factory almost immediately — there's little reason to ever think about your grid again. Advanced Energy Grid adds a staged pole, substation, and transmission progression so your electric network grows on purpose instead of solving itself on tick one.

Advanced Energy Grid is the electric-grid half of a renamed, substantially rewritten Factorio 2.1 successor to the old Advanced Electric mod — the other half, Advanced Power Infrastructure, covers generation and storage. Together they replace it; each also loads and works fine on its own.

Features
- MK2 small electric pole for tighter early coverage
- MK2–MK4 medium electric poles for expanding factory-block distribution
- MK2–MK4 big electric poles for long-distance transmission
- MK2–MK4 substations for dense late-game local coverage
- Separate local-distribution and distance-transmission technology branches
- Optional MK2–MK4 huge electric poles when Power Overload is installed

Progression
Small and medium poles carry you through early and midgame local coverage. Big poles handle long-distance transmission without stepping on substations, which stay the tool for dense local grids. If Power Overload is installed, its huge poles become an optional late-game backbone tier — Advanced Energy Grid registers its poles with Power Overload's registry so they get configurable overload limits and tooltips.

Requirements
- Factorio 2.1 + Space Age
- Optional: Power Overload 2.2.0+

Companion mods
Advanced Energy Grid is one of three companion mods — this one for poles and transmission, Advanced Fluid Infrastructure for pipes and pumps, and Advanced Power Infrastructure for generation and storage. Each works fine standalone, but the progression is designed with all three installed.
