FAQ

Q: Is Power Overload required?
A: No. Power Overload is optional. Advanced Energy Grid works with Factorio 2.0 and Space Age without Power Overload installed.

Q: What happens if Power Overload is installed?
A: Advanced Energy Grid adds upgraded huge electric poles as an optional long-distance backbone progression branch.

Q: Is Power Overload fully supported?
A: Not yet. Power Overload compatibility is currently partial. The current published Power Overload release applies overload limits to its own Tier 1 poles and fuses, but Advanced Energy Grid’s higher-tier poles are not registered for overload limits yet. Full support is pending an upstream Power Overload registry API.

Q: Does this mod replace Advanced Power Infrastructure?
A: No. Advanced Energy Grid owns electric grid infrastructure: poles, substations, and transmission progression. Advanced Power Infrastructure remains focused on power generation and storage.

Q: Does this mod require Space Age?
A: Yes. Advanced Energy Grid targets Factorio 2.0 with Space Age enabled.

Q: Does this use AI-generated content?
A: Yes. The thumbnail artwork and a significant amount of code and documentation were developed with AI assistance. The repository includes public governance files describing the guardrails used for AI-assisted development.
