Advanced Power Infrastructure expands Factorio 2.1 + Space Age power generation and storage from early steam all the way through late-game nuclear, fusion, solar, and accumulator tiers — a full power progression to match Space Age's late-game material and science pack curve.
Advanced Power Infrastructure is a renamed, substantially updated continuation of the old Advanced Electric mod (DanielWinks/Factorio-Advanced-Electric, GPLv3), ported to Factorio 2.1 + Space Age. Its electric grid content — poles, substations, transmission — was later split out into the companion mod Advanced Energy Grid; together, the two mods now cover everything the original Advanced Electric mod did, and each also loads fine on its own.
Features
- Additional boiler, steam engine, steam turbine, heat exchanger, heat pipe, and nuclear reactor tiers
- Promethium-tier fusion reactor and fusion generator upgrades
- Holmium and cryogenic solar panel and accumulator upgrades
- Progression built around Space Age materials and science packs
- Optional integration with Advanced Fluid Infrastructure for power-machine pipeline extent descriptions
- Optional companion split with Advanced Energy Grid for electric grid infrastructure
Scope
This mod owns generation and storage — boilers, engines, turbines, heat systems, reactors, fusion, solar, and accumulators. Poles, substations, and transmission live in Advanced Energy Grid; pipes and pumps live in Advanced Fluid Infrastructure. Both are optional — Advanced Power Infrastructure loads fine standalone with just Space Age.
Status
This is an early public release for Factorio 2.1. Core progression is implemented and the mod loads standalone, but balance values, long-running save upgrade paths, and broad compatibility with other power mods should still be treated as experimental during the 0.2.x series.
