Hi, I’d like to ask you whether your mod includes a scenario where, at the provider’s station, the cash register contains several types of items – such as iron plates, copper plates and iron bars – and there are three stations on the map, each requiring a different type of item (one requiring iron plates, another copper plates, and so on) So I’d expect the mod, when the train arrives, to set the filter on the loaders to load only the required material. The same applies to liquids, where, of course, the player must also set up a system to drain any excess liquid into the pipes.

Thank you

Thanks — good case, and not covered yet.

UTL already sends each train for one specific job, so your three requesters each get their own delivery. What is missing is telling the loading side what to load.

Coming in the next version:

  1. Wagon slot filters — UTL filters the wagon slots to the goods of the current job, so plain inserters from one mixed chest load only that item. No wiring, and wagons you filtered yourself are left alone.

  2. The job as circuit signals at the stop (positive at the provider, negative at the requester) — for filter inserters, displays, and fluids, where you switch the right pump with it. Draining the excess stays up to you, as you said.

Update 0.0.3 is out — both parts are in:

Wagon filters: while a delivery runs, UTL filters the wagon slots to the goods of that job, so a mixed chest with plain inserters only loads what was ordered. Off per station or map-wide; wagons you filtered yourself are left alone.
Job output: a small output next to every train stop carries the running job as signals — positive for what is loaded here, negative for what arrives here, plus train number, length, locomotives and wagons while the train stands there. Use it to set inserter filters and to open the right pump at a fluid provider.
The new scenario UTL examples shows both: a provider with three chests where only the right inserter runs, and oil and water on switched pumps.

It has only been played on small networks so far — if you hit anything odd, please tell me here.
