b Crash on startup when running without IfNickel but with SE and AAI

I get a startup crash that says:
Failed to load mods: ThemTharHills/compat/aai.lua:41:attempt to index field 'ifnickel-se-maintenance' (a nil value).

I'm trying to load ThemTharHills without BrassTacks or IfNickel for testing purposes of my own mod, in a modpack with SE+K2+BZ+some of your mods+others.
