Solar Halo

Adds a solar orbit location, a solar station, supercomputers and high energy technologies. Brave the heat of the sun to gather enormous amounts of solar power. Manage high energy supercomputers and their waste heat to use their computing power to make advancements.

I've completed my current vision for this mod, but if anyone has ideas I'm open to considering an implementing them. Here is a thread for people to post your ideas.

Any ideas on Moshine compatability patch? Putting AI cores into supercomputers would be nice

This mod and the Dyson Sphere mod both add very similar space locations. It would be nice if they were combined when both were enabled, or if there at least was a toggle to turn off the space locations.

The Gauss dragon's power draw is a bit much, especially since it runs at the same power priority as other machines and does not support efficiency modules/beacons. I assumed the intended solution is to use electrolyte terminals, but the throughput doesn't seem enough and they are janky (when power demand exceeds supply, they lock up and stop discharging). It might be good to have some kind of denser accumulator.

Also, I don't like the "solar station". I assume this exists because otherwise your solar power ships have to also fly back to Nauvis or wherever, but inter-platform transfers exist as a mod already and will be a base feature shortly.

@ginetik I don't have any interesting ideas for a Moshine compat. I think there is some potential there.

@ImpossibleNight I'll look into it, it'll probably be a few weeks before I have anything though.

@osmarks Solar station exists to provide a higher solar output later in the tech tree that is even further from everything else. Near solar orbit is about the point where steel melts given reasonable cooling. Solar station is where carbon fiber melts. I haven't played a whole run with the gauss dragon yet so the numbers might be too much, but you might want to try separate power networks.

@osmarks Oh, the terminal is acting as tertiary when providing power as well. I'll see what I can do about that.

Really? The space map has them 1km apart. I just don't particularly like it being a planet but yellow.

Speaking of Moshine compat, it would be nice if this mod's computational data stuff was calculated like Muluna/Moshine's data 'fluids'. Restricted to the separate optical fiber cables for their pipes and using those mod's discs for barrels. I think being able to research the storage drives and ship them to places where you need more data could be a fun compat setup.

Neither mod adds an Underground equivalent of cables, that might be a cool reward? Buried Fiber Optic Cable or something.

A: You can get around the terminal limitations using the power pumps from https://mods.factorio.com/mod/electric-grid?from=search
B: Could "module inserter" be optional? I've noticed some performance problems with it, and you can also automate module insertion with recursive blueprints.

a tutorial on the new heat buildings would be nice. I think I figured it out from just trial and error, but I still feel like I'm missing something. Something in the tips and tricks tab.
