You mention it should be enough for normal vanilla turrets, with tiers 3 and 4 for modded ones, but what about with artillery? Nest will keep expanding and high tier worms out range your defenses, so artillery is necessary, but wouldn't it leave tons of resources on the ground when the nests, worms, and sometimes biters/spitters/pentapods are slain in the strikes there?
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd suggest that you make a long-range version which uses a bit beyond artillery range (so will grow with artillery) and is just expected to slowly mop up that less common source of material. That, or somehow make artillery strikes not leave alien loot.
