Hard Vulcanus


Tweaks to Vulcanus. Demolishers are more numerous and have higher speed, the starting area is much smaller, and certain casting recipes now require research to incentivize building a small science chain on Vulcanus. Vanilla+.

While i am at the moment in a Vanillia run of SA,

i would have a suggest which would fit this mod i think.

  • have the demolishers wander a little out side thier territory, problably claiming some addional chuncks, so they are not so static. This wanderring could be some letzs a little sideways each travelt chunk and even probably some more, to the next installation outside, taking in some one building or so when not irritated too much

one could think of much different wanderings of, like say a little around the the next large magma pool.

Don't know if its possible or so, but i would hope this would lead to more lively demolishers

I also would love to see some mechanic where demolishes reclaim territory. I think a good way to make this work would be with a "scout party" demolisher that spawns from an existing demolisher and moves to the center of a player-controlled territory, destroying whatever is nearby and then claiming the territory. It would work similar to how the other enemies work.

Hey mate, love the idea of trying to make vulcanus harder. I actually love the design of all the other planets to encourage odd base design, not so much 'difficulty' but making the player change their way of making standard bases. I found this mod and its great but what you think about just banning underground pipes of vulcanus? Like the pipes cannot cope under the crust?
I feel like this would be crazy fun to try build bases, might force players to creative with fluid wagons, pump logic etc. Maybe barrels of liquid on belts could even be used because of this? Any way good stuff otherwise

Nice suggestion but it seems to overlap with one of the central mechanics of Hard Space in the modpack.

All good! I managed to mod it myself and I just uploaded it like 2 hours ago haha. I've never done it before but i managed to work it out. Thanks for the reply

I think some people will like it. Have you tried playing it with the other Vulcanus pipe restrictions in this modpack?

oh no i just made a mod that doesn't allow the placement of pipes. Im not savvy enough to combine it with this one. It works fine for a slight tweak mod, not a big overhaul mod like this one.
