Now you can uncraft & recycle items into science packs! Provides a lab that performs reverse-engineering research converting items into science packs considering their worth. Sometimes it can unlock related technology research!
Use cases
- With mods where you can find, loot advanced items, see rec.mods
- In multiplayer when robbing others' bases
- Just in case you wanna get rid of old stuff
More info
- You can preview results of items reverse engineering using the Evaluator – a special window available in the shortcuts, see screenshots 🔎
- There are runtime/map settings to adjust probabilities ⚙️
- Items' worth is calculated by a complicated script 📊 So, the balance can be a bit wrong at the moment. And it may be adjusted in newer versions.
- Researches, recipes and science packs from any other mods are supported 👌
- Supports Informatron – you have detailed description right in the game!
- There is API, remote interfaces for other mods developers to disable reverse engineering for specific items or adjust their configuration 🤝
Recommended mods
Meanwhile the Reverse Lab supports items and technologies from any other mod, it will be especially useful if you have some mods that provide progressive technologies much before you can research and craft them yourself. Here is what you can use it with:
- WarHammer 40.000 Legio Titanicus – this is the first reason I created RevLab: in Titans mod you can find corpses of broken Titans, extract some details from them to construct new ones, but before this you need to conduct related researches, and due to being a really advanced technology requiring a late-game performant base, it's easier to reverse-engineer the details 🦾
- Secondly, I'm working on several big amazing mods, one is an RPG that stimulates you to explore interesting maps, loot things, so that RevLab will be pretty helpful ⏳
- Space Exploration also provides some content to explore and loot (especially the spaceship from asteroid belt and the 9 level modules you can find in ancient pyramids). Note that the results quantities are relatively small by default, so it's advisable to increase probability value setting and to check the Evaluator before using your items to prevent useless wasting them 🚀
- The Ruins Mod – it adds some broken buildings and chests to loot, however, there are almost no advanced things. But this mod supports presets extensions, so, you can make or find a patch mod that adds more useful ruins 😁
