Ejectors are definitely not supposed to be adjustable, I have that set to false in the code you can see here. Though it sounds like if you have some other mod that lets you set throwers diagonally, those mods will usually override that setting to true, which is how you would have been able to adjust the ejectors.
Now with the 2.0.66 change I did have to make adjustable setting to true so the game can load, and then try and recreate the functionality to work as if it were false. I guess that means that if you had ejectors already built that were not set to 20 range, this update would mess that up.
On the flip side though, if you still have a save file from before the update and can send that to me, I think I can make an update that can preserve those settings and only enforce the 20 range on newly placed ejectors
