b Landing trains disconnecting

I've just made a simple magnetic jump ramps and when my train goes over it, it disconnects. It's a long train, 5 locomotives and 14 cargo wagons.

It disconects in between of the first 2 locomotives and the 3 left and then disconnects all the cargo wagons. Is it a problem of it slowing down or something when it jumps? I've seen the dosh and his beautiful jumping train video but don't know how to fix it, unless I put the locomotives every single cargo wagon or 2.

It jumps correctly, each part lands without damage but I really don't want to have to find a mod that connects every piece of the train back together or use recursive blueprints to make a new train every time it jumps.

If a train slows down too much then it won't jump off a ramp, but the minimum speed for that is really really slow. If you upload your save file to Google drive or something and I'll check it out to see

I just tried the setup you described with 2 trains facing forward, 14 wagons, and 3 facing backwards going off a magnet ramp. I tried going fast, slow, driving manual, automatic, short jumps and max length jumps and they all worked okay. Is your setup different?

No, I had 5 going forwards, it is a one way train with all rare rocket fuel.

Had a station far enough ahead to not cause a problem at the end of the jump. I was using the whole ramp distance.

I don't have that save file cause I quite quickly overwrote it, that's why I didn't send it.

I am playing with other mods so it's probably that so until I find it I wont waste your time

I'm bumping this thread since I'm having a similar issue.

I have a very simple 1-1-1 train going back and forth on a dedicated line with a jump in the middle. Currently, when inbound to the base everything works fine, but when outbound to the mine, landing from the jump will cause the rear locomotive to disconnect and move backward for no discernible reason. It gets even more bizarre as simply moving the launching ramps around slightly can change whether the rear locomotive disconnects or not. I've got a setup that works, but I don't see any reason why it works sometimes and not others.

The save, for reference. Currently the train has to be manually tasked between the mine & base.

It looks like your train is going so fast that the first train and the wagon get far away enough after landing that the last train cant reconnect with them, causing it to drive "forwards" which is actually backwards in that case. When a train hits something (like a Train ramp) it gets bumped back a bit. I think the problem is that faster trains bump back further, meaning they will fall behind the wagon in front and might not meet back up with it on landing. Placing the ramp in slightly different spots likely causes the rounding to go in one direction or the other which could make or brake whether or not the last train has enough time to catch up to the first two. I'll have to see how I can make it more consistent, but in the mean time I guess having slower moving trains will be less likely to disconnect
