As this mod does not directly interact with the electric grid, it's probably an issue with the other mod.
This mod uses invisible entities in order to obtain/distribute power from the network. So, if it's not working with a mod that creates its own powered area, then there's likely an issue with that other mod.
Also, make sure that you have the input and/or output buttons enabled on your shortcuts.
