What does this do ?
Alone, nothing ! This is like a music album, but you need the music player first : https://mods.factorio.com/mod/PI-house-made-music
Then it adds all the songs as game music and / or as instrument for the speakers !
Why ?
Because different music genre went into different mod, this is techno, like an asset pack, and if the music payer's logic is made smarter, there's no need to redownload all the music.
No why this album ?
You should download it if you like techno, electronic music, with a twist of middle eastern influences. If on Fulgora you thought about throwing a party like it's Dubai. Or if you are interested in joining the Desert Unit of Sound Travellers yourself, it's not a closed membership club, songs are added as time goes.
Did you use AI ?
Yes, for the music and the pictures, it is mentionned it when it's the case in the descriptions.

15-Yapa-D-Globuba( 4 min 00 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Experimenta-Vocal-play, Techno, House, Oriental/Middle-East (124 BPM)
Inspiration : Party Harders vs The Subs - The Pope Of Dope , No king protests, AI taking over, some funny email i saw on TV, Bubba Kush
Comment : For this one the preview is between 2 drops, there is a longer vocal intro in the full song, and some heavy bassline, with a bit of progressive in the second part. It was an experiment with a new plugin for vocals, it's only used for the drop at end of the preview clip. The rest of the voices are AI with quite the amount of rework, for the whole song too, and the clip. This is one song with "lyrics" for the purpose of the setting that disable song with lyrics. The story is about the infamous last king of Fulgora, Yapa-D-Globuba, about the day he missmanaged the AI bot supposed to translate messages from the alien "Brow" and "Soup" from the song Roswel. Something known as an "omelette au fromage" mistake. The translator-bot started to translate speech into old french, taking everything literally and broadcasting to all defense systems. This caused a catastrophe after's Yapa Deroide Globuba usual guest-greeting-marijuana-ritual, the AI translated the name of the strain and the king altogether, the resulting message was literally " there's no king, blow bubba". ( which you can hear throughout the song). I wish i could tell the rest, but it's unclear as of yet what happened next, continuing the research in the ruins ....

1-Thunderous-Entrance ( 2 min 00 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Techno, Deep-House, Oriental/Middle-East (123BPM)
Inspiration : images from Monolink concert Cafe de Anatolia,
Comment : This is the first song, it sets the mood for the album. You can hear for yourself, it will be one of the most thunderous. Techno is a very wide term, it's not going to be rave or hardtek, that's about the max level of desired punchyness for this album, there will be other song with this intensity, some faster, but not both at the same time that would be too much for me when playing factorio :) There will be more relaxed song with similar sonorites this is like a hero song you only hear once, or maybe when you are in battle, if the game change to allow those detections in the future! Currently it's a regular main track though. It was mostly generated by AI, extended a bit to make some part 12 bar instead of 8, because i like the effect it does with the expectations in the melody, and remastered by doing a stem separation, and then reconstructing the song with added LFOs on some tracks at some times and various automated filter, some more reverb too, little details to amplify the existing and make it hopefully sound perfect in game with the trains, the robots , the thunder and all :)

2-Juliette ( 2 min 29 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Melodic Techno, Deep-House, Oriental/Middle-East (121BPM)
Inspiration : Cafe de Anatolia, Juliette that said she liked techno at the bar for the title.
Comment : This one is a relaxed one, as you can probably tell from the 2nd video, which is not the full song this time, just the beginning, an attempt at keeping the presented sound of the same quality as the sound in the mod while keeping the video small. AFAIK the game plays the sound at lower bitrate than the actual file 32bit vs 16 bit per sample, and 44.100 Hz instead of 48K if you notice some differences, that's why. The story of the song goes like : at first AI generated alongside many others and put in a large selection for refining at a bar that play music i like , to get a feel of "what if that song were to be played now", because i want this album to sound like 2025 onward, and i'm hard at work, a french bar you can sit at a table next to strangers, and they were nice wanting to hear the music, so i tried to find the proper folder and a song that would be fit for strangers partying, i didn't want to rekt any innocent ears with too powerful techno, i'm not sure it was actually this song that played cuz they were all named with dates or numbers, but it was this one i wanted to present, because i think it's inviting and gentle, maybe a bit melancholic, it's for me at the other end of the spectrum compared to previous song. I do keep the original game music when i play, to keep the overall balance with more quiet songs, i may add a couple very calm but most song's intensity will be targeted to be in between the 2 examples. Since then the song was named after the person who shared the music at the bar and re-remastered like previous song cuz i wasn't fully satisfied by the first version, it was made less harsh, more flowy if that make sense. Next description will shorter !

3-Dancing Under Never Ending Storm ( D.U.N.E.S) ( 2 min 50 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Melodic Techno, Progressive-House, touch of disco, Oriental/Middle-East (124BPM)
Inspiration : Miss Monique , Cafe de Anatolia, Rialians
Comment This one is like a second entrance, had it not been thunderous, a more progressive one, more dreamy, that's how i feel about it. It ends in the party at Dubai :) It was generated by AI and polished, some claps, kicks and hi-hats were added, 'drop' reworked a little, bit of reverb added to match the other 2 songs and make the accoustic part more intense, a filter with automated progressive variation added throughout the song to change a copy of only some instrumental parts played at lower volume , to give a sense of subtle progression. There is a bit of resignation or darkness in the sound i found, and it sound a bit like a train, or a recycling machine, that never stops, and the 'accoustic' synth is someone wondering what's going on, and adapting to the "storm", the roar, the thunder by dancing and elevating. If you don't hear the resignation you can think of the first few accoustic claps that become more electronic, it's the sound of robots taking over Fulgora or AI over humans, and the organic synth is like can you do this "tu du du ...." and the robotic synth answer "no but i can do that" "daa daaa daaa" and the dance never ends. Also there is some bounciness to the sound, so i think it fits the shape of "dunes. Voila, now time to dance !

4-Roswell ( 2 min 47 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Melodic Techno, Progressive/Deep House, little touches of Oriental/Middle-East (124BPM)
Inspiration : Crawlix-Mirage
Comment This one will have the least amount of middle east influences or be the least desert related, the one with fewest accoustic sounding synth, you got the idea.. This is because Roswell isn't in the middle east, but according to Fulgorans sources, a rescue mission aiming for "Roswell" crashed on their planet, bad luck you could say. You can hear the aliens, an angry 'braow braow" and the other one confused, "soup soup"... Sources about what happened next diverges and are amongst the last pieces of fulgorans history. Now about the song itself, it was also mainly generated by AI, i tried to make the entrance more "floaty" or progressive, with a high frequency filter that decrease over time, and added a few pshht pshht click and clap where i saw fit too, like the previous songs, it was reconstructed from different stem, duplicating some, adding some effect to them and re-adding them to the song to intensify some parts or reduce the intensity of others. Hopefully making it sound space-like, mysterious and a little dark with respectively, the electronic synth, the vocals and the percussions. And the organic synth acting to release tension, that's the intent at least, i hope you like it as much as i do :)

5-Peaceful Skies ( 3 min 34 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Melodic Techno, Deep House, Oriental/Middle-East (118 BPM)
Inspiration : Doing research on the instrument used in places where there is a desert
Comment This one i found ressemble the first one, i'm saying this cuz i will not do preview for every song, i plan a few surprises, so in case in a description it says, "it ressemble" that's what i mean, it's there to illustrate. And it ressemble the first one for the balance accoustic / electronic imo, it's a lot of accoustic or synth that sound not so electronic compared to Roswell. It was made like the previous song, using AI generation, then reworked with different stem. Similar clap clicks and kick as those in previous songs were layered to try and create a consistent ambiance. It's slower, and more peaceful. hopefully, because that's the intent, especially with the reworks of the instrument starting at 00:48, this one makes my shoulder relax, or release the tension ? something like that, i added extra copies in the second part of the song to act a little like a canon because there was not enough of it in the song for me. There's a slight touch of vocals, i think it gives an additionnal warm touch. It's again a song for Fulgora, until i can make the player better to allow planet selection. I hope you like it :)

6-Meet You at the Train Station ( 3 min 10 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Oriental/Middle-East, Techno, House (120 BPM)
Inspiration : Da Hool for the title, Westerns movies, hooka places.
Comment This one is an example of the "least techno" , the more accoustic that is intended for this album, ( depending on feedback :) ). For the mood it will also be around one of the most "ambiant" music, what i think would be more suited to traditionnal video game where you would play a nation in the desert. It's not a party song, there's too much tension it's not festive, or is an example of "the least festive" intented for the album, there will be couple like this, it's more cinematic, that seems to be what the AI call it when i give it back because . It was generated by AI, like the others, the process is explained a bit throughout my different mods when i learn something new i try it, like new instrument i learn about and hear on wikipedia, to incorporate in the prompt and structure, i add slight variations around a core or shuffle the words around to try and give some keyword more importance. This one was reworked for more reverb for it to "take more room" like it fills the whole planet not just the place to party ( which is a train station in present case ) . Claps kicks and ticks were added hopefully echoing those in the other songs, to try and merge slightly different genre in a cohesive whole. For now i try to present the "limits" or the contour, the perimeter of the album :) i expect the coherence to appear with more songs that incorporate elements or instruments from the presented example, i've already worked on it, but for now this one may sound like an OVNI if that make sense ?

7-Long Way Home to You ( 3 min 28 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : (Tribal) House, Techno, Oriental/Middle-East,(123 BPM)
Inspiration : That one tribal house album i bought when i was a kid, whose cover was orange, and the DJ had a spanish name, and chatgpt can't help me find what it was.
Comment : This song represent the "house" side compared to techno, for me, it start more tribal house and turn progressive-house, it's repetitive like techno though, i found those more helpful for concentration in game and the vocals are not too present, those are not "lyrics" that song will not be removed by the setting. It feels somewhat neutral mood for me, when i say 'calm' or 'energetic' that could be compared to this one :). This was also made using AI and reworked following the same process as the others, plus a special attention to the shakers because the usual down-sample version didn't work well on this song. I tried boosting a bit the stereo too. The more joyful passage i found are ending in a lower note which makes it sound like there's something good and exciting coming, but it's not there yet. That still makes the journey pleasant, It's not meant as a curse like "i hope you have a long (and annoying) way to your home, it's meant to say it's a long way to home, and home is with you. I imagine for nomadic people, the concept of home is being near loved one, like in this song , it can also be a long way out Fulgora :)

8-Horizon ( 3 min 57 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : (Progressive)House, Techno, Oriental/Middle-East,(122 BPM)
Inspiration : tutorial from K. Hart
Comment : This one is for when you're on a planet ( Fulgora ) for a while, it's a long song, and "slow" in its unfolding. I did what i could to recover the vocal part that was very saturated when it was generated by the AI, and duplicated the violin part, that was only present once originally as part of the reword that took couple days. It's been couple weeks or month at this point that i tried to follow a tutorial in particular ( linked in inspiration) because i really like the end result, it was like a challenge to do so with a different soundsoftware and only free plugins, i could go up to about 3/4 of the tutorial, and then i felt it was like a drawing tutorial, i had the pen the paper and the next step was "now you draw the waterfall" and i couldn't, it was like "now i'm going to take my violin and record a few strings". I had left the project like many others but it opened a little box in my head that i wanted one day to spend time working on such violin parts, that feels grandiose to me, majestic. So even if the AI song was "subpar" and was going to need a lot of rework i choose to do it. I would otherwise have disqualify it due to the mediocre quality of the vocals. I'm curious to hear any feedback on this, i wouldn't be surprised if my judgment was off on this one, i feel it's "a risk". The song is considered as not having "lyrics" because it's more "melismatic" (learned that word while doing research for this album). I hope it's one song that illustrate an idea of beauty that wouldn't be sensual, unlike most songs from me, and idea of asceticism, or resilience, that would have been the title if i had not used it earlier. If there was a possibility to choose day or night songs, it would be night.Maybe it's a bit sensual. Unlike the 2 before, this is one song that could be "played in repeat", while the other 2 tells a story that may be boring or too predictable, they are better as "interlude", this one for me could be a 2 hour version, i only kept around 4 minutes for this release with minimal vocals, and much violins but it opened a box in my head, where one day i want to work on similar vocal but with better quality and make a song around it :), i hope it makes you relax and look far ahead too !

9-My Mechanical Mirage, Princess Invisible ( 3 min 27 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : House, Techno, Oriental/Middle-East,(123 BPM)
Inspiration : Alladin
Comment : This song ressemble the (7) Long Way Home to You. For some reason still under investigation at the time of writing it appears to be the song with the most difference wether it's played on headphones or speakers. The use of headphones is recommended as that's how it was mastered. ( all the songs). The mechanical mirage is the train , you can hear the click click in the song, patrolling the desert, searching, maybe ressources ? maybe someone in the ruins ? you can hear at the end, but you cannot see :) It was also a song mainly generated by AI and remastered to add little bits here and there and reworked, mainly the shakers and hat loops. It's a little ballad, neutral with a bit of mystery at first and at the end to suggest something to the imagination.

10-Arid ( 3 min 36 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Techno, House, Oriental/Middle-East,(121 BPM)
Inspiration : House music from my childhood, like The Drill - The drill
Comment : This is a less flashy song than some of the others, it's very "dry" like the desert , especially in the early parts, i found the minimal side is helping for balacing the energy of the music album. Sure it's a techno party album, but one got to keep the factory running and not be too distracted ! It's also not super modern, like 2025 onward, this is more retro to me, or oldschool. It was made using AI and remastered like the other songs. I used transient processors and a plugin called Maximus on top of adding reverb on some duplicated section of both bass and drums, with parametric eq boosting different frequencies to make the "dry" a bit less "dry" because it was too "dry" when i asked the AI something that would be "dry" uhhh. I found it's one of the song that works well in repeat mode ,the vocal touches ponctuating a journey in arid sound/land scape.

11-Slowdown ( 3 min 00 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Techno, House, Oriental/Middle-East,(114 BPM)
Inspiration : a bit of all the previous songs
Comment : This is a slower BPM song that still has some intense moment, but overall the mood is one of a slow down to me :) It was also mostly generated by AI ! Like the others, with minimal rework, or maybe it start becoming an usual practice and it goes faster to identify the little details that would make the song pop better in the headphones and where to apply the filters. It's a very simple song, i haven't reworked it to duplicate the instrument at 32 sec, as i did with the violins in horizons, i considered it, and may do another version in the future, because it's quite rare that i find 2 version "equally ok" , i tried a little , usually it's pretty intuitive and rapid so maybe a future variable track :)

12-Scorpions ( 2 min 41 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Techno, House, touches of psy-trance, Oriental/Middle-East,(123 BPM)
Inspiration : Miss Monique, Glowal - Rollin', Neobuthus Factorio, ( the real life factorio scorpions)
Comment : This sounds faster than 123 BPM to me, and a little psy-trance. I had it cooking for a while and liked it but wasn't confident that it would fit the album, I was much inspired to add it after hearing the preview of the incoming collab between artists i really like. It also gave directions for the finishing touches of the rework from those AI pieces i had, amplifying some frequencies and adding delays to increase the ressemblances. ( plus the usuals, like claps and reverb for consistency.) I feel that's how music works, a genre is like a framework, you will necessarily borrow elements that you like from it, what made me want to try and make music/sound from this genre is something that i heard elsewhere and really liked and tried to reproduce that feel, there is obviously a part of "copy". Attempting to make up-to-date-for-party-techno is also a factor of "copy", the idea of trend and fashion that create temporary convergence in the form of the art they are applied onto. Pedantry's looming, so i'll stop here my apology/tribute. For the story you have to imagine scorpions in the desert that belong to them, you can hear their little legs in the sand tchi tchi tch , and sometimes they battle, you can hear the drums, and the tension during their duels that look like dances, with a slight touch of electronic static/buzz that makes you wonder if those aren't tiny mechanical machines crawling in Fulgora's ruins. For now no preview, i'll try to make one with scorpions when i can make it work

13-Fulgora's Sirens ( 3 min 41 sec) [Fulgora]
preview in the future :)
Genre : Techno, House, Oriental/Middle-East,(123 BPM)
Inspiration : Some beat pattern present in other songs, emotions when hearing such vocals, the story of Ulysse.
Comment : This song aims at being captivating or mesmerizing, with the vocals, that calm the unsuspecting boastful adventurer that start his ballad light-hearted shortly after the intro. Something that makes him doubt he'll ever leave that desert. Like a desperate call from the ruins, but also warm and inviting or disarming invitation to stay. It was made using AI and slightly reworked This one was difficult to get from AIs that tends to sing melody. It's still not considered as "with lyrics" for the purpose of the settings because there's only one word sang, "layali" which wasn't meant to be sang as it is the name of this genre of singing but I got all emotionnal when i heard it from the AI, so kept it for rework. You can just pretend it's like "Shazam" in Fulgoran langage, artistic license or something. It's called Sirens also because it's also a synthetic voice, or an enchanting creature, there is a part of deception in there. Don't get fooled :)

14-Sulfuric Sandstorm ( 3 min 03 sec) [Fulgora]
Genre : Techno, House, Oriental/Middle-East,(123 BPM)
Inspiration : Darude for the title, camelphat & zafrir - destino heard on Miss Monique mix ( that's also heavily influenced the choice of the genre for this album).
Comment : This is a techno song ! Energetic and a little acid, tried a bit like the first one for the mood but more electronic hopefully. It sound a little darker imo than the inspiration song , more like a sandstorm, mixed with acid rain, there's tension, it's a crisis. But also it's warm and there's hope, with the violins and the wide harmonic bass. There is no preview planned for this one atm, it sound quite close to the inspiration ( imo ), the beginning is punchy, it stays throughout the song. AI were used for the making, it is one of the song that i didn't know how to properly rework and postponed for a while because it's one i feel has a lot of character and i didn't want to miss something. It's the closest to the song that inspired this album. And the more i like the song, the more difficult it is to add the last touches because "it sound good" more often. I tried to make it more hypnotic with some low frequency ping pong, like soft ASMR unexpected feeling and very subtle buzzing to keep an electric fulgora touch. Not too much hand clapping, it's more time to take things into a shelter. I think it can also sound like a nice alarm when recycled things start to overflow and drastic measures are required. Similar hurry-up mood mostly, with some very slight touches reminiscent of "Horizons" for the "hope" part.
Feedback and suggestion :
You can write a message in the discussion tab, i suggest you be nice but you don't have to
Future plans
I do a little every day, my plan is to add other songs until the album is finished and stop updating it so often, instead focus on something else like the player or another album, this is maybe 70% of the expected end result in terms of duration.
