What does this do ?
It adds couple music track to Vulcanus !
What if i dont have the space age expansion ?
Then it adds in on Nauvis !
That's it ?
No actually this mod can also be used like a music album for my other mod too : https://mods.factorio.com/mod/PI-house-made-music
If both are active then the other mod add the music from this one as instrument for the programmable speakers too for if you want to make a jubebox on your spaceship, or in a night-club area in your factory ! And a couple settings for if you want to play only this song x)
Why ?
This way you can select your favourite "album" for each game, and when i publish a new song or a new album or try to make the music player better, you don't have to redownload everything.
No why this album ?
If you like Synthwave ? Vaporwave , electroclash ? I don't know the precise definition of those terms, my reference are Kavinsky, The Toxic Avenger, Daft Punk, Justice, but this works too : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QKQlf8r7ls , there's very few songs for now it's still searching a proper perimeter as an album.
Here are some previews :
Latest Track :
-
3-Super-Seeded ( 4 min 14 sec) [Vulcanus] or [Virentis]
better preview soon x)
Genre : Somewhat Synthwave, Electro/Tech/House, from when those genre were a single one for most people.
Inspiration : Cerrone - Supernature The Toxic Avenger - Getting Started , Da funk from Daft Punk, Water of Nazareth from Justice, the OST from the movies Tron
Comment: This is what i would consider a punchy and eclectic song for this album, it's not meant to be harsher or faster or more brutal than this, this would be like a hero song and it mixes several influences that are quite far away from the core of the synthwave genre, but i figure the predominance of synth makes it fit this album plus its acronym is BIGASS. It was made with AI continuation, you can hear it supersede my introduction at 0:42 second, it's not the exact one that was continuated, and the continuation has been slitghtly edited, but it's mostly AI after that. Remastered. It's a time travel around different music genre with some angry parts for combat like necessary in the planet Virentis judging from the images and some more delicate passage aimed at making "nature" have its place in the song so it's not all machiny-machiny. It think the continuation is "not a success" in that it doesn't sound like the intro at all, but it is pleasant to hear (for me at least :p ) , it fits the rest of loops that were given to the AI previously when working on another song, so it's like a lucky accident , and i would have reworked it to be more consistent in genre throughout the song if not for the second movie Tron, i happened to watch when i couldn't play factorio, when the AI takes over the vilain and becomes the true vilain, it's the same dramatic vibes, hearing the music of the movie is what prompted reworking the intro loops because i thought the instrument i made the preset for sounding "like in the movie" and i feel the moment at 0:42 sound like AI taking over, exactly when the AI does the continuation, it's a brutal transition. The title is a pun because i hope i have a good seed for the planet Virentis in my game, and there seem to be a lot of planting required :) I have yet to reach the planet in my game so this is more "anticipation" and subject to change if i feel it doesn't fit the planet mood or depending on feedback.
List of songs :
-
1-Small Demolisher ( 4 min 00 sec) [Vulcanus]
Genre : Synthwave, experimental retro gaming sound
Inspiration : My main inspiration for making music is the DJ Miss Monique, but for this particular song, there's some influence of the game pokemon, i'm generation red and blue, on the first gameboy, and it made that memorable sound for wild encounter, that i thought would be suited for wild encouter with demolishers, and some snake charmer melody can be heard at some point.
Comment : This is an energetic song , for combat, ta-na ta-na ta-na,is when you need to sidestep the explosion, it's fast paced, as you can hear in the video :) it was made using AIs and trying different prompt for genre to try and have something different, this one was like a wild result that had nothing to do with what was asked, but i thought it was quite punchy and the mood fitting the game for demolishers, because it reminded me of the pokemon wild encounter, it has some combative vibes, and some parts at the end that i edited a little to leave the issue of the fight uncertain and a little gloomy, so it's not too abrupt when it end when played in game. Although you should totally use my other mod too and play this song on speaker for your space ship or on repeat while fighting on other planets too if you want ! -
2-Slow-Mo-Celeb ( 4 min 54 sec) [Vulcanus]
no preview !
Genre : Synthwave, experimental retro gaming sound + snarky saxo !
Comment : This is a slowed down song with some snarky saxo sounding synth moment, that sounds like the french version of Nana, nana, boo-boo! ; Neener, neener, neener! , you can be the snarky smuggish snobby celeb too for just a moment and the bass kicks in bouuum bouuum. I would play it out loud in my Lambo if i had a car, and it was a Lambo, or in the game too bad i suck at driving the tank, it would be a good tank music. It was made using AIs. It isn't a dark a song, unless you're a biter and being mocked by a smug engineer. It's more the confident vibes that super vilains have at the beginning of a kid's animation movie. The slight detune and lagging rythm makes it a "wannabe" great vilain, but only in kids movie with a hopefully subtle touch of self derision/ parody. For when you feel weirdly happy to have killed a worm with a railgun and you have 2000 ammo left, that kinda of feel.
