Update to the mod Gear Girl Character.
Original description
A mod by SleepyEngi
Contains a fully animated girl character with all 3 levels of armor and custom color masks.
Thanks to Hideboar for the design I based my 3D model on!
Why the update?
The original mod overwrote the character with its changes, so other mods that changed things like the character reach, flashlight, inventory size, etc, had to either make special exceptions for this mod, or run the risk of their changes not taking affect. With the help of Pi-C's Character Helper Mod, I've created this updated version of Gear Girl that should now properly respect all of this.
Because of the way the old mod did things and the special case handling I know some mods did to account for it, I have marked this mod as being incompatible with the old one (having both loaded at the same time, unfortunately, still causes issues seems the old one is still overwriting everything).
HR Textures
That's right, there are now HR textures for this mod as a separate mod, New Gear Girl Character - HR graphics!
While fixing up the original, I stumbled across a discussion thread about someone else creating an HR (only) version of the mod that appears to have never been uploaded to the mod portal. It too suffered from the same problems as the old, with the additional issue of making the character invisible when shooting standing still. I tracked this down to what may have been a find & replace mistake: instead of them changing the scale for the graphics of this specific animation from 0.45 -> 0.45/2, they changed it to 0.4/25. As such, the character wasn't turning invisible so much as being made really, really small! So, yes, that is now fixed for this version.
I didn't want to force everyone into using the HR graphics if they didn't want to, but because of the size of the HR files + the originals, I couldn't even upload it to the mod portal! This is the main reason why the HR graphics have been split to a separate mod. As a side benefit, anyone who wasn't interested in them now don't have to download them. ;)
Final note
I am not a graphic artist or modeler, and I do not have access to the original assets. I cannot fix issues with the current graphics (ie, the shadow is at the wrong angle), and I cannot add support for other mods' armors or other custom outfits (ie, jetpacks or spacesuits). If someone else is, can, and wants to do the work, I'll add them in, but otherwise I can't do these. Sorry.
