When using the gear girl character mod, it seems to disable mods like factorio reach which enhances the players build, mine and interacting distance and sets it back to the standard values.

I'm afraid that's my fault(see this thread: Making a copy of the original character in data.lua and replacing the original character in data-final-fixes.lua if no character-selector mod is active seemed like a good idea. But of course, if some other mod changes properties of the default character in the meantime, these changes will be overwritten. We should check for a number of properties that should be retained when the default character is replaced. I'll try to come up with a list soonish. Still working on minime, but this is on my TODO list now (I've I, Robot, which should have the same problem, so I'm certainly interested in getting this fixed). :-)
